🇮🇷🌟 Does Coca Cola and Pepsi that is made in Iran benefit "Israel"?
In the fine print on the cans of both Coca Cola and Pepsi variants, aside from stating that it is produced in Iran, it also says that they are produced under license from the Coca Cola and PepsiCo companies respectively.
Generally, Iran loosely recognizes international copyright laws and it was thought that the brands of these companies remained after the revolution and waves of sanctions, but there are no ties to the main companies and they just use the brand name due to lack of enforcement of copyright.
However, with this fine print on the cans, it seems that they do have ties to the main companies and get their license to produce from them. Licenses usually involve a licensing fee every year or some period of time. We cannot confirm that this is the case but the fine print lends us to believe that this cannot be entirely ruled out and there is a large possibility that it is the case that they are paying license fees to the main international corporations, which they derive from the income earned from annual sales.
Therefore, as a precaution, it is better for those who live in Iran to boycott Coca Cola and PepsiCo products, even if it is produced domestically.
💡 Pro-Tip: Eating healthy automatically leads to boycotting most problematic companies on the boycott list.
Boycotting is a basic duty anyone can do on a personal level, but we should never be under the delusion that this alone will liberate Palestine. Only armed resistance can achieve this. Everything else must be complementary towards the path of resistance, rather than a substitute.
