Eid arrives, but our hearts are heavy. How do we celebrate when Gaza is still bleeding? How do we embrace joy when the oppressed are still buried beneath rubble, when their Eid is marked by loss, not laughter?

This year, Eid is not just a day of gratitude, it is a day of commitment. A day to remember that our worship doesn’t end with Ramadan, that our duty doesn’t fade with the crescent moon.

To our brothers and sisters in Palestine: your pain is ours, your struggle is ours, and your fight is not forgotten. We will not rest. We will not stop. We will never, ever forget. Until justice is served. Until liberation is won. Until victory is written.

Their portraits stand at the forefront of every podium, gazing out with eyes that have seen both the weight of oppression and the fire of defiance. Behind these podiums stand the freedom fighters, faces hidden, identities veiled…not out of fear, but as a testament to a truth deeper than any name: the resistance is not bound to a single face, a single voice, or a single life.

When a leader is martyred, imperialists celebrate, deluded by the belief that they have severed the head of the movement. But they fail to understand that resistance is not a body with a fragile neck; it is an ocean. You cannot decapitate the waves. For every martyr that falls, a thousand rise—not as echoes, but as storms.

The hidden faces are not empty spaces; they are reflections of all who carry the struggle forward. They tell us: This is not about who I am. This is about what I am part of. The message is profound and undeniable—resistance is immortal. It does not die with its leaders because it was never born from them alone. It was born from the land, from the blood spilled into its soil, from mothers who bury their children and rise the next day with clenched fists, from the call to prayer that echoes even in rubble.

Empires crumble because they build monuments to men. But the resistance? It builds monuments in the hearts of the people. You can bomb a city, but you cannot bomb an idea. You can imprison a fighter, but you cannot cage the will to be free.

So let them stand there—those masked fighters, those eternal martyrs—side by side, across generations, across continents. They speak without words: We are all one. We are all many. And we are never gone.

Mohammed Deif…warrior, strategist, and unwavering servant of Palestine, was born in the crucible of exile, a son of al-Qubeiba whose family was torn from their land by the Nakba. Raised in the refugee camps of Khan Younis, he grew up not in the comfort of peace, but in the fire of injustice, where every demolished home, every stolen olive tree, and every martyr’s funeral became a lesson in faith and resistance.

From a young age, he was not content to merely witness history; he sought to shape it. While studying chemistry at the Islamic University of Gaza, he carried both the knowledge of science and the wisdom of jihad in his heart. He saw that occupation was not a storm that would pass but a plague that had to be uprooted. And so, he did not just walk the path of resistance, he built it, stone by stone, tunnel by tunnel, sacrifice by sacrifice.

Deif was not a soldier for himself, nor for any fleeting cause, he fought fi sabilillah, in the path of Allah, where every hardship was a test, every wound a purification, and every loss a step closer to victory. He lived as a shadow, unseen yet ever-present, striking fear into the oppressors while carrying the hope of his people. The occupier hunted him like a ghost, raining fire upon his home, murdering his wife and children, believing they could break him. But Deif was not a man of this world, his soul was already tied to the hereafter, and his mission did not waver.

For decades, he led from the unseen, outmaneuvering those who believed themselves invincible. He turned tunnels into fortresses, transformed blockades into battlefields, and carried the spirit of the Palestinian resistance through the darkest of times. While tyrants relied on their war machines, Deif relied on the promise of Allah: Indeed, Allah will aid those who aid Him.

Today, his martyrdom was announced — but martyrs do not die, they are alive, sustained by their Lord. His body may have fallen, but his legacy rises with every child who learns his name, with every fighter who carries on his path, and with every believer who understands that true victory is not measured in years but in eternity.

Mohammed Deif did not seek a life of comfort, nor a death of ease. He sought only to serve the cause of liberation and the will of his Creator. And for that, he will never be forgotten.

Today, after years of imprisonment, torture, and defiance, Zakaria Zubeidi walks free—not as a broken man, but as an unyielding symbol of Palestinian resistance. His release is not just the return of a fighter; it is the return of a legend, a testament to the unwavering spirit of a people who refuse to bow.

From the streets of Jenin to the depths of “Israel’s” most fortified prisons, Zubeidi has lived a life of struggle, sacrifice, and defiance. He was not just a prisoner—he was a warrior caged, a leader shackled yet undefeated. Even behind bars, his name struck fear into the oppressors and ignited hope in the hearts of the oppressed.

They tried to silence him. They failed.
They tried to break him. They failed.
They tried to bury him, but today, he rises again.

His escape from Gilboa Prison in 2021, alongside his five comrades, proved that Palestinian resistance cannot be confined by walls or steel. His recapture did not end his fight—if anything, it deepened his legend. And now, as he steps back into the world, he does so not as a man released, but as a man returned—returned to his people, his cause, and his unfinished struggle.

Zakaria Zubeidi is free. But Palestine is not. And until every inch of the land breathes liberation, his fight—and ours—continues.
