Guenon’s theory that horrifying technological advances could be a catalyst, signifying the high water mark for the cult of progress before the West turns instead to a more Traditionally oriented civilisational mode, is represented in popular science fiction as "reactionary technophobia".
Specifically where post human ideals are represented, we find frequent examples of a mania for the dissolution of the organic human in favour of a new “higher”, mechanised version. While there were many films and novels of this genre (beginning perhaps with Shelley’s Frankenstein 1818) which serve as warnings of the dangers of the post-human or post-organic ideal; The Glass Bees, The Terminator, Demon Seed, Colossus: The Forbin Project, etc. In more recent years the trend is to portray post-humanism in a positive light, with sympathy for the cyborgs, augmented humans and artificial intelligences.
Fritz Lang’s Metropolis Movie 1927, foreshadowed much of what was to come in post-human sci-fi. It was remade as an anime in 2001 Metropolis (2001 film), in which the proletariat revolution against machines was preserved, but combined with a separate reaction from a privately funded “Fascist” organisation called the Marduks. Due to the Shinto religion’s belief that a kami (spirit) can occupy a robot, the sympathy for AI in Japanese cinema is more nuanced than the purely progressive representations in the West.
Another anime, Ghost in the Shell, while generally uncritical of the processes that lead to post-human conditions, is not altogether without merit. That being said the spin off series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex features a typically anti-traditional plot-line in which the cybernetic police must battle an anti-refugee terrorist group named Individual Eleven, whose inspiration, a fictional political theorist named Patrick Sylvester, was based on Yukio Mishima and the essays the group disseminates are based on Mishima's "Kindai Nohgaku Shu (Modern Noh Collection)". However, the depiction of Sylvester is not entirely unsympathetic….

Such nuances are entirely absent in modern films such as Lucy, in which a kind of false transcendence is celebrated. The review on Gornahoor puts it perfectly.

FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992)
Set in a fairy society visited by an outsider hero, FernGully oozes folkloric elements and emphasises conservation. A local filth deity sealed in an ancient tree is unwittingly released from his prison (cf. Ernest Scared Stupid), and begins a rampage; the heroes, a fit, post-adolescent, will-they-or-won't-they couple with big 80s hair, thwart him and restore peace to the verdant bower. The film takes its time with its simple plot, preferring to demonstrate the importance of the natural, the seminal and the magical than to hurry itself along, and the climax makes it clear that a community and its environment are inextricable - quite literally a blood-and-soil message.
Trivia: Robin Williams, a bat escaped from an unethical scientific lab (cf. The Secret of NIMH), delayed the production of Aladdin in preference for working on FernGully, so passionate was he about the role and the film's message.

For the work I do on Survive the Jive, I would like to earn a decent living. The minimum wage for over 21 years olds in UK is about $2360 USD per month. Between Subscribestar and Patreon I make around $2700 but I support a family of four on this. I also get a little money from ads, but I am still quite a low earner.
Hope not Hate receives over half a million dollars a year in donations in a bad year. In better years it received millions.
Despite being propped up by the UK deep state and given acting roles on Game of Thrones, the transexual communist 'Philosophy Tube', who, like Hope not Hate, ran a hit piece on me, has monthly earnings from Patreon estimated to be between $5,000 and $59,000. He/she has 6,221 paid members compared to my 278.
I don't regularly ask for support as I like to devote as much of my time as I can to creating documentaries, however these posts are occasionally necessary to remind people that STJ will only continue with your help. The left are happy to fund creators who don't even need the money.
My coming film about Iceland may well be the best documentary I have ever made, so watch this space!
