Everyone is talking about the tariffs, but the fact is that the U.S. dollar has been weakening under Trump, so the U.S. Dollar exchange rate to foreign currencies is down about 10% this year, as I myself can testify to as an American businessman who imports over 75% of the goods we sell online.
Even with no tariffs, imported goods are now costing more because of the weak U.S. dollar.
Most Americans have no idea what this means, but they will soon.

ICE agents arrested Mahmoud Khalil without a warrant, Trump administration confirms
Homeland Security attorneys admit that warrants are needed to make an arrest even with ICE, but claim that Khalil was a flight risk and therefore did not have time to get a warrant.
But Khalil is a legal permanent resident with a Green Card married to a U.S. Citizen, and they just had their first baby earlier this week, that Khalil was not allowed to attend as he is in a concentration camp in Louisiana.
If they can do this to LEGAL permanent residents of the U.S., they will soon be doing it to U.S. Citizens as well, as Trump even admits that this is what they want to do.
Warrant-less arrests, confinement in ICE "detention centers" with no access to an attorney, or deported directly to prisons in El Salvador.

The Trump administration conceded on Thursday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents did not have a warrant when they detained Columbia University activist Mahmoud Khalil in March, acknowledging it was a "warrantless arrest."
Khalil's attorneys are asking an immigration judge in Louisiana, where their client has been detained by ICE for weeks, to terminate his deportation case based on the fact that he was arrested without a warrant.
The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, admitted in a court filing that immigration agents typically need warrants before arresting individuals. But it argued that Khalil was arrested without a warrant due to "exigent circumstances," alleging that agents believed the Columbia activist would "escape before they could obtain a warrant."
Khalil's lawyers denied that he had any plans to flee, saying in their own court filing that their client "fully complied" with the ICE agents' demands.
"Tellingly, no agent present at the scene has ever submitted sworn or unsworn testimony that Mr. Khalil attempted to flee or otherwise posed a flight risk," Khalil's lawyers wrote in a court document.

We have already seen what kind of people this Administration is classifying as "criminals" and "terrorists," including teenage girls here on tourist visas, and Fulbright Scholars here on student visas who dare to say anything about the plight of Palestinians and are then labeled "antisemitic."
American citizens cannot legally be deported, not even convicted criminals. So a blatant disregard for the U.S. Constitution is the only way he will get away with this, by declaring some kind of "emergency" to give himself "emergency powers."

Trump Appointed Federal Judge Orders The Trump Administration to Return Another Young Man who was Wrongly Sent to El Salvador and Had Legal U.S. Protection from Trump's First Administration
The Trump Administration's claim that they are only deporting terrorists and dangerous gang members who came across the border illegally during Biden's term continues to fall apart every day.
Today, a second judge from Maryland, this time one appointed by Trump in his first term, ordered Trump to return a 20-year-old man who filed for asylum in 2019, during Trump's first term, because he allegedly entered the country as an "unaccompanied minor" against his will as a child.
The immigration court had ordered the man NOT to be deported, in 2019 under Trump's first term.

A federal judge in Maryland has ordered the Trump administration to facilitate the return of a 20-year-old Venezuelan asylum seeker deported to El Salvador, ruling the removal violated a court settlement protecting some young migrants with pending asylum claims, according to an order issued Wednesday.
The person deported was part of a class action case filed in 2019 on behalf of individuals who arrived in the US as unaccompanied minors and later sought asylum. A settlement in that case determined they could not be removed from the United States until their claims were fully adjudicated.
US District Judge Stephanie Gallagher, who was nominated to the post by President Donald Trump, issued the order directing the government to work with Salvadoran authorities to return the man to the United States. The man is referred to only as “Cristian” in court filings. Gallagher also barred the removal of other individuals covered by the settlement agreement, which was finalized in November 2024. According to the plaintiffs’ attorneys, Cristian was removed on March 15 and sent to a prison in El Salvador.

Maryland judge orders return of Venezuelan asylum seeker deported to El Salvador

A federal judge in Maryland has ordered the Trump administration to facilitate the return of a 20-year-old Venezuelan asylum seeker deported to El Salvador, ruling the removal violated a court settlement protecting some young migrants with pending asylum claims, according to an order issued Wednesday.
The person deported was part of a class action case filed in 2019 on behalf of individuals who arrived in the US as unaccompanied minors and later sought asylum. A settlement in that case determined they could not be removed from the United States until their claims were fully adjudicated.
US District Judge Stephanie Gallagher, who was nominated to the post by President Donald Trump, issued the order directing the government to work with Salvadoran authorities to return the man to the United States. The man is referred to only as “Cristian” in court filings. Gallagher also barred the removal of other individuals covered by the settlement agreement, which was finalized in November 2024. According to the plaintiffs’ attorneys, Cristian was removed on March 15 and sent to a prison in El Salvador.
The judge’s ruling marks a second order directed to the Trump administration to secure the return of a man from El Salvador to the US and illustrates an increasing showdown between the administration and the federal judiciary over how much power courts have in resolving disputes concerning immigration.
Citing the precedent of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who the government admitted was wrongly deported, Gallagher wrote in her opinion: “Like Judge (Paula) Xinis in the Abrego Garcia matter, this Court will order Defendants to facilitate Cristian’s return to the United States so that he can receive the process he was entitled to under the parties’ binding Settlement Agreement.”

Fewer foreigners dream of coming to the U.S. today. Lately there’s been a sharp drop-off in the number of global travelers to the United States. The Financial Times places the blame squarely on “political and economic tension and fears of a hostile border under President Donald Trump.”
Europe, Asia and Latin America — the shunning of the United States is widespread. And these places aren’t even America’s biggest source of tourism money. That would be Canada.
Guess what? Canadians are staying away too. In droves. Airline bookings are down by more than 70% for the upcoming crucial summer travel season.
In fact, travel and tourism is a huge part of the services economy, supporting some 9.5 million American jobs. The U.S. Commerce Department’s International Trade Association (ITA), which provided the data, adds that the industry contributed $2.3 trillion to the U.S. economy in 2022. The ITA reports that travel and tourism is the largest single services export for the United States, accounting for 22% of the country’s services exports and 7% of all exports in 2023.
So when Trump insults — even threatens — friends around the globe because of his obsession with one part of the U.S. economy, it hurts other parts.

The "rules", of course, are Article V of the U.S. Constitution, which states a U.S. President can only serve 2 terms.
To "rewrite" that "rule" LEGALLY, would require a 2/3 majority vote in Congress, or 2/3 majority of State Legislators.
Neither will ever happen under Trump.
So defying court orders including the Supreme Court, is not just legal posturing, it would seem, but part of the overall plan of Trump to stay in power and abolish the U.S. Constitution.
He actually alluded to this on the campaign trail, when he told Christians that if they voted for him, they would never have to vote again.

A Non-Hopium Edition of today's news in what was a truly historic day.
The only place I am seeing near panic over today’s news is in the financial news that Wall Street investors subscribe to. Almost everyone now is predicting a recession, with others throwing journalistic caution to the wind and explaining that we could be seeing something on par to what happened in 1929.
I doubt that most Americans truly understand what we are now living through.
And the Trump supporters are still positive. I saw articles today in the Conservative Christian Media saying things like “TRUMP IS BRINGING DOWN THE DEEP STATE BANKERS!”, and other such positive spins on Trump’s actions.
They don’t mind if they lose their jobs and cannot put food on their table anymore, as long as they “trust the plan”.
They can't see that Trump IS THE DEEP STATE, and they are following him like sheep being led to the slaughter.
