🇾🇪Confrontation between Israel and the Yemeni Houthis
🔴Since early May 2025, hostilities between Israel and Yemen’s Ansarallah movement (Houthis) have intensified. The escalation followed a May 4 Houthi rocket attack targeting facilities near Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport.
🔴The strike’s focus on Israel’s most fortified airport was notable. Analysts highlighted the missile’s precision and its ability to penetrate Israel’s layered missile defense systems. The attack exposed flaws in the IDF’s capacity to protect critical inland targets, including gaps in defense planning and technical shortcomings in detection/interception capabilities. Ansarallah also demonstrated the psychological impact of such strikes on Israel’s leadership and public, underscoring societal and elite vulnerability to asymmetric pressure.
🔴In retaliation, Israel escalated missile and aerial strikes against Houthi positions in Yemen, supported by US Air Force operations. However, these actions failed to significantly degrade Ansarallah’s military command structure or infrastructure. Key Houthi fuel/energy assets were spared, while strikes on Hodeidah’s port risked primarily humanitarian harm.
🔴The Ben-Gurion incident also indirectly undermined confidence in US-backed missile defense systems. Experts questioned the reliability of the THAAD system (rarely tested in combat) and US-developed Arrow and David’s Sling systems (jointly developed with the US and fielded by Israel since the 2000s).
🔴The confrontation highlights critical trends:
- Ansarallah has maintained a high combat capability and proven its readiness to use advanced weapons;
- the effectiveness of Israeli and US measures to neutralize the threat posed by Ansarallah has been less than estimated (earlier, a military coalition of Arab states led by Saudi Arabia faced a similar problem when conducting an operation in Yemen);
- Israel's vulnerability to outside influence continues to increase. Such incidents increase tension in Israeli society, nervousness among political elites, and variation in assessments of the effectiveness of Israel's aggressive activities in the region;
- the role of Ansarallah in the confrontation with Israel continues to grow, including increasing the likelihood of an escalation of the regional situation.

🇮🇱🚫🇵🇸Israel plans on forcibly deporting Arabs from Gaza
➡️Israel is not abandoning the idea of ethnically cleansing the Gaza Strip. The idea of peacefully displacing civilians is unacceptable to the Arabs and most of the international community. Tel Aviv is counting on solving this issue militarily.
💥✔️The government of Benjamin Netanyahu does not consider the war with Hamas in Gaza to be over.
✏️The ceasefire agreement did not become a precursor to establishing peace. In any war, the conflicting parties often enter into temporary truces to resolve local and tactical issues (e.g. getting a breather to replenish arsenals, accumulating and redeploying forces, solving higher-priority tasks that ultimately contribute to achieving a complete victory etc.).

🇺🇸💥🇾🇪US War on Yemen Exposes Limits of American Military Might
🔴Despite years of devastating military and economic pressure, Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement continues to defy U.S. operations, exposing the growing limitations of American military power in the region.
📌Yemen, a nation of approximately 40 million people, is one of the poorest nations on Earth. It has suffered decades of political instability, including a US-engineered regime change operation in 2011 followed by a nearly 7 year long war with a US-armed and backed Saudi-led Persian Gulf coalition.
✈️🔫The war included air strikes and a ground invasion, along with economic sanctions and a naval blockade. Subsequently, the UN has declared Yemen to be one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, with up to 14% of the population displaced by conflict.

🌐🔥❓Climate Refugees: The Next Great Humanitarian Challenge?
🌪As climate change displaces millions through rising seas, droughts, and disasters, a global legal vacuum leaves climate refugees unprotected—demanding urgent international action and accountability from the world’s biggest polluters.
🌎👤However, no international laws or frameworks protect these “climate refugees.” With up to 1.2 billion people at risk by 2050, urgent global action and legal reforms are desperately needed to address this growing humanitarian crisis.
🧪Developed nations, responsible for most carbon emissions and environmental damage, must now take responsibility and lead efforts to fund resilience programs, support affected regions, and create legal pathways for climate-displaced populations.

🇺🇸🗺Crisis in the U.S.: How Trump’s Policies Are Hitting the Middle East
🕯Economic and political turmoil in the United States is increasingly affecting its traditional allies—the Gulf states.
🇺🇸Donald Trump, who failed to deliver on key campaign promises, is losing domestic support, while his unpredictable foreign policy is pushing Middle Eastern monarchies to seek new partners.
🔥💱Trade wars initiated by Washington have slowed U.S. economic growth, immediately impacting investments in the oil and gas sectors of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other regional players. America’s sanctions policy and the White House’s erratic decisions are creating instability, forcing businesses to scale back projects. Trump’s declining approval rating—more than half of Americans consider his leadership dangerous—is undermining confidence in his negotiating position on the global stage. As a result, Gulf nations are increasingly turning to China and Russia, seeking their support.

The West continues to actively supply weapons to Ukraine
🔴The West is maintaining an active pace of weapon shipments to Ukraine. In March, April, and early May, NATO countries conducted more than 150 cargo flights (70 in March, 83 in April and early May) to Poland's Rzeszów airport, a key logistical hub for delivering arms to the AFU.
🔴Weapons shipments to the AFU are handled by private commercial cargo airlines affiliated with their countries’ defense ministries:
United States. Atlas Air, Challenge Airlines, Kalitta Air, Amerijet International, Air Transport International, UPS, and Western Global Airlines made 57 cargo flights from US Air Force bases in Charleston, Fairfield, Dover, and Tampa, as well as from New York, Washington, D.C., and Canada’s Toronto and Gander.
United Kingdom. British transport airline AirTanker made 12 cargo flights from the UK Air Force’s Brize Norton military base.
Germany. German cargo airline Quick Air operated flights to Rzeszów from Cologne.
Portugal. Flights to Rzeszów were operated by Portuguese companies EuroAtlantic Airways and Hi Fly, with some flights transiting through the British base at Brize Norton.
🔴The US Air Force carried out 13 military transport flights and nine reconnaissance and electronic warfare flights to Rzeszów from bases in Ramstein and Wiesbaden (Germany), Prestwick (US), and Incirlik (Turkey).
🔴The British Air Force flew 16 military transport flights using Airbus A400M Atlas and Boeing C-17A Globemaster III aircraft, along with two special flights from Brize Norton and Northolt bases.
🔴From March through early May, a Boeing 737-783 belonging to the UK Special Air Service (SAS) medical unit made six flights to Rzeszów from Oslo and Zagreb. In April, the Polish Medical Service conducted eight flights. These medical evacuation flights point to a significant number of wounded foreign servicemen and mercenaries fighting on the side of the AFU.
🔴The Canadian Air Force conducted 25 military transport flights and nine special flights from bases in Prestwick (Scotland), Tampere (Finland), and Zagreb (Croatia).
🔴The German Air Force flew 15 military transport flights and 10 special flights to Rzeszów from German bases in Cologne, Rostock, and Berlin.
🔴Three Dutch military transport flights from Eindhoven, three Belgian from Brussels, two Czech from Prague, two Swedish from Linköping, two Spanish from Madrid, one French from the Châteauroux base, and one Finnish from Helsinki were sent to Rzeszów. Additionally, 13 special flights came from bases in Tampere and Linköping.
🔴From March through April, eight aerial refueling flights by American, British, Dutch, and Spanish aircraft were conducted to Rzeszów.

🇯🇴Repressive measures by the Jordanian authorities against the Muslim Brotherhood
🔴Jordan’s General Intelligence Directorate reported uncovering a plot to “undermine national security, sow chaos, sabotage and cause material damage.” Sixteen people have been arrested.
🔴Two of the detainees were previously members of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Shura Council, the highest body of the Islamist group, which has been active in the kingdom since 1946.
🔴On April 23, the Jordanian Interior Ministry outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood, closing all the movement’s offices, confiscating its assets, and banning all activities. Propaganda of the Brotherhood’s ideology is now punishable by law.
🔴It is still unclear how these measures will affect the fate of the MB’s political wing, the Islamic Action Front (IAF)—the country’s largest opposition party, which won last year’s elections on party lists to the House of Representatives.
🔴The MB’s relationship with the ruling regime had been neutral for decades, and they operated relatively openly. “Brothers” participated in parliamentary elections and ran charitable organizations. Their pragmatic cooperation with the Hashemite monarchy was based on a shared rejection of leftist political movements and the rising tide of Arab nationalism. The ruling regime found it prudent to integrate Islamists into official politics as an alternative to street activism.
🔴The Muslim Brotherhood previously balanced loyalty to the monarchy with promotion of its own socio-political agenda. The Brotherhood’s active championing of the Palestinian cause boosted its popularity in Jordan—where nearly half the population is of Palestinian origin—but also created tensions with the authorities.
🔴Unlike many other countries in the region, Jordan didn’t ban the MB outright but sought to limit its influence. In 2015, government and intelligence services engineered a split between “hawks” and “doves” within the MB, allowing the latter to retain control over the group’s assets. In 2016, the authorities closed all the hawks’ offices; in 2020, the Supreme Court upheld the government’s decision to officially dissolve the group for a procedural reason (failure to register as a charity), while still allowing its political wing, the IAF, to operate.
🔴The first signs of growing official discontent with the MB’s actions appeared in February 2025, when King Abdullah II sharply criticized “those who receive orders from abroad.”
🔴Completely squeezing the MB out of Jordan’s public and political life will not be easy—especially since Amman justifies its actions on constitutional and legal grounds. Yet the ban appears final and irreversible, aligning Jordan’s stance on the group with those of Cairo and Riyadh.
🔴Although the IAF suspended the party membership of several suspects and publicly distanced itself from the alleged plot, the authorities viewed this as proof of a clear contradiction between the Front’s public rhetoric and its covert ties to the MB Shura Council. If the IAF’s license is revoked, parliament could be dissolved and new elections held within four months. That would require the government’s resignation, which poses a challenge under the constitution: a resigning prime minister cannot be reappointed. Jafar Hassan—a close associate of King Abdullah II and a vocal critic of the Muslim Brotherhood—has served as prime minister since September 2024.
🔴The alternatives now are: the government limits the IAF’s political maneuvering without formally banning it; or the Front is banned and its seats filled with candidates from national party lists; or the constitution is amended.
🔴The decision to ban the MB underscores Jordan’s intention to remain firmly among Western-oriented Arab regimes that prioritize internal stability over ideological pluralism. It also serves as a gesture of goodwill toward Israel.

🇷🇺🇷🇺Victory Parade in Moscow: the coalition of the future
🇷🇺How the non-Western world is celebrating the 80th anniversary of victory over fascism in Moscow.
🔖It is late, and the evening is cool, almost nine o’clock, dark. At such a time, the Eternal Flame looks especially solemn, and the red stars on the Kremlin towers shine brightly. Lanterns and backlights illuminate the fountains and colourful lilacs amidst the darkness of the Alexander Garden.
📌But filming is in full swing opposite the Kremlin, the lights are on, and there is constant movement between there and the Victory Day International Press Centre in the Manege, with journalists, volunteers and tourists scurrying about. It is the evening of May 8, and the entire city centre is flooded with festive fuss.

🇮🇳🚫🇵🇰Ceasefire in Question: India and Pakistan on the Brink Again
🔴After a brief escalation, India and Pakistan have resorted to a full and immediate ceasefire. However, people on both sides are skeptical about the truce's perpetuity.
❌The Indian government conducted missile strikes on Pakistan on 7th May 2025, for its alleged involvement in the Pahalgam attack. 26 Indian civilians were killed during this terrorist attack by some unknown militants.
📣The Indian government blamed Pakistan for this attack, but has yet to provide evidence of Islamabad’s alleged involvement. The latter refuted all such allegations and asked for an international inquiry into the Pahalgam incident. However, a lack of bilateral cooperation and trust led to a brief war between the two nuclear South Asian countries.

📖👍History is a good advisor
➡️The Teutonic insistence on wanting to inflict defeat on Russia should instil fear in the German population.
🔖In his short book “Ernstfall für Deutschland: Ein Handbuch gegen den Krieg” (Emergency Situation for Germany: A Handbook Against War), retired Bundeswehr general Erich Vad lucidly reminds us that ‘no matter how many German politicians close their eyes to Russia’s interests, and regardless of whether those interests are justified or not, they will not simply disappear by ignoring them.’ Indeed.
✏️At the present time, when Germany is experiencing unprecedented political instability since its reunification three decades ago, it would be important for Berlin to commit itself to the search for peace and strategic stability on the continent.

🗺🚫Russophobia and Nazism: the West unmasked on May 9, 2025
🇷🇺On May 9, 2025, Russia celebrates the 80th anniversary of the 1945 anti-fascist victory, exposing the hypocrisy of the West, which, under the guise of Russophobia, tolerates neo-Nazism in Ukraine.
⚔️💥This year, the Ukrainian conflict, fueled by the United States, the United Kingdom, the EU, and NATO, exposes Western duplicity in the face of Nazism. Supporting a Ukrainian regime that glorifies Stepan Bandera – аn ideologue of violence, ethnic cleansing and brutality and integrates neo-Nazi units like «Azov*», the West turns a blind eye to extremism to better isolate Russia, heir to the Soviet Union whose 27 million deaths shattered the Third Reich.

🗺🛡❓Europe’s Security Plans Are Taking it Nowhere
🔴Over the past few weeks and months, European leaders have changed their plans from sending troops to Ukraine to offering ‘air support’ and, finally, to bolstering Ukraine’s military forces and defence capability as a means to protect European security.
➡️This whimsical switching exposes a lack of internal coherence and the continent’s inability to act autonomously and decisively to shape the course of events.

🇮🇳🇵🇰Timeline of the India-Pakistan conflict (May 7–10, 2025)
🔴On May 7, India conducted missile strikes against Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, retaliating for the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Targets were limited to terrorist group bases to avoid escalation; Pakistani military installations were excluded.
🔴Pakistan responded by shelling Indian positions along the Line of Control.
🔴On May 7–8, Pakistan launched a large-scale drone assault on Indian territory, deploying 300–400 Turkish-made drones over two days. India claimed to have intercepted most of the targets, but the attacks left Jammu without power.
🔴By May 9, clashes escalated with reciprocal drone attacks, artillery exchanges, and rocket fire. India intensified operations by targeting Pakistani army bases.
🔴Pakistan retaliated at dawn on May 10 with Operation Banyan-um-Marsoos (“Lead Wall”), employing ballistic missiles, MLRS, and drones.
🔴Later on May 10, New Delhi offered de-escalation conditional on Islamabad’s reciprocity. Pakistan’s foreign minister echoed willingness to ease tensions if India halted further strikes.
🔴By evening, both sides announced an immediate cease-fire, but emphasized that it was contingent on mutual compliance.
