Nietzsche recovers the importance of laughter which had been eliminated from Plato’s philosophy. “He who laughs best today will also laugh last.” He basically sought to shatter the philosopher’s authority which was veiled in seriousness, solemnity, and rigidity.. through laughter. The way to eliminate all solemnity and heaviness is not through anger, but through laughter. Here, Nietzsche advises that one should not respond with anger to anything that claims to hold truth, but rather with laughter. If someone hypothetically asserts that God exists, one should not react emotionally. Instead of arguing that God does not exist, it is better to simply laugh it off. In doing so, fear of God naturally disappears. Those who mock God no longer believe in Him and are free from any fear or seriousness associated with God. As a result, the authority of religion itself vanishes. That was Nietzsche’s method of argumentation.
