Today we mark Vimy Ridge Day—a day when our soldiers stormed a hill and planted the seed of a nation. Those brave souls—loggers, farmers, labourers from coast to coast—fought as one, under our own banner, and showed the world what Canada could be: strong, united, free. As a Canadian, I am proud of that legacy, but I’m also worried—worried that the Canada they built is slipping away, eroded by government overreach and an immigration policy that threatens to replace us.
Those heroes at Vimy didn’t die so we could be managed into submission or outnumbered in our own home. They fought for a Canada that belongs to Canadians—descendants of pioneers and patriots who earned this land with sweat and blood.
So we honour those who fell by standing up—against overreach that binds us, against policies that erase us. We demand a Canada for Canadians, true to the nation born on that ridge. Let’s fight for it, as they did, with heart and resolve. The spirit of Vimy lives in us—let’s prove it.
