The Indian regime has arrested Dr. Ali Khan Mahmudabad, a prominent 43-year-old Muslim professor, political scientist, and public intellectual from the Shia community and the royal house of Mahmudabad.
His arrest reportedly came after a social media post and article where he raised critical questions about the role of Muslims in Operation Sindoor and the broader political narrative around patriotism in India.
In one of his posts, Ali Khan Mahmudabad wrote:

Lebanese professor, Malak Sbeiti explains the role of Sayyeda Zainab (peace be upon her) in the media, it is not just news and informing but combating misleading ideas!
Sayyeda Zaynab (a) played two media roles: a purposeful media role, clarifying and documenting what happened in Karbala, and a counter role against misleading ideas. And misleading ideology today is far more dangerous.
We can speak to people and say: this is how we must be. Sayyeda Zaynab (a) addressed the people, showing them what they should be and what they must do. But she didn’t stop there.
She completed it with the part we are in most desperate need of today: countering the media of falsehood and deception.
There is a lot of media deception, many temptations leading to media downfalls, a lot of distortion, and a lot of people being dazzled by the worldly matters and benefits, doing things that go against religion just to satisfy the ego or to gain financial benefit or attract an audience and get more views.
Especially on social media, some people go out and say things they don’t even believe in just because it brings more views. Or they appear in front of people but don’t speak the full truth, because some parts of the truth might hurt. Not because they want to harm people, but because some people don’t want to hear the word of truth.
Sayyeda Zaynab (a) teaches us that the one who wants to speak the truth in the face of a tyrant should never fear the blame of any blamer for the sake of Allah.
We are in desperate need of decisive words. We must not be unstable. We must not be media that presents what displeases the Prophet (s) and Ahlulbayt (a).
That is why Sayyeda Zaynab (a) remains eternal. Because she stood with the pure, clear truth and removed the deception we see today.
The presenter says: today we see from some media outlets and channels no clear path, no method, no clear message. They are unstable.
The professor replies: and when you ask what the reason is, the reason is always a worldly one. Interest. And this goes against religion.
Sayyeda Zaynab (a) gave the ultimate line of distinction. She left us with no excuse.
As a media person, it is your duty to walk in the path of Sayyeda Zaynab (a). You will not reach the stage where you speak the truth while the heads of your loved ones are in front of your eyes.
You will not reach a pressuring moment where you speak the truth while you are alone, isolated, broken inside, surrounded by oppressors who could cut your head off at any moment because you said the truth. And she said it.
We are not Sayyeda Zaynab. And we will never reach the situation Sayyeda Zaynab reached. But we must ask ourselves, my Sayyeda, my mistress Zaynab (a), you did everything you did to deliver the word of truth. What have I done, as a media figure, to walk in your footsteps?
If I face myself with this question and I find myself trying to justify my actions in front of Sayyeda Zaynab (a), no matter what justifications come to mind, they will shrink to the point where I can’t even say them in front of what Sayyeda Zaynab (a) went through.
This is why Sayyeda Zaynab (a) should be the motivation and the push for every media figure to carry out their role according to her path.

🔸Many people imagine that owning extreme wealth and high social, work or political status guarantee the person respect and admiration, but this is false
🔸 Al-Ma’mun al-Abbasi, despite that he was a ruler in that time, the entire state was under his demand and orders, having wealth, mansion and power, yet even in the day he took over the throne, he was met with many revolutions and movements against him, he was met with internal and external challenges, what he had was not enough to buy him acceptance or respect
🔸 While Imam al-Ridha (AS), not owning the wealth of al-Ma’mun, military or anything like that, yet he had acceptance, admiration and sincere love from the people. The Imam was of course, infallible, he was wise, kind, very intelligent, pious, free from mistakes and everything, yet he had the hearts of the people, as what happened in the time when he was going to lead the Eid prayer, people were drawn to the Imam, they were influenced greatly by him and not the ruler, which is something that shook al-Ma’mun and scared him that he will lose his power and control, so he ordered the Imam not to lead the prayer
The Prophet (SAWA) said:
Of course, the Imam was infallible and already had a high position and status to Allah (SWT), but that is the wisdom here. When a person is sincere and humble to Allah and clings to Allah, His Prophet, the Book, and Ahlul Bayt (AS), Allah rewards the believer with acceptance and love
🔸 When you see that people of faith love you and that you are accepted among them, how many times do you just stop and think about it, realize that this is truly a blessing and ask Allah to increase this love and acceptance for you make it permanent?
That itself is a blessing, blessings don’t necessarily have to be with wealth, sometimes Allah rewards the believer with such acceptance and love, despite that the person is not wealthy, yet he is beloved and respected by many, spoken well about by people of faith in his presence and absence. That itself is a blessing and earned from being sincere, through humbleness, piety and closeness to Allah (SWT)
🔸 Imam al-Ridha (AS) did not seek the people’s attention and demand their acceptance, yet it came to him effortlessly because he was full of light and piety. That’s a lesson: the more we purify our hearts, be close to Allah (SWT), have good intentions, do good, be kind, the more Allah brings others towards us

“Indeed, when Allah the Exalted loves a servant, He calls Jibreel and says: “I love so-and-so, so love him.” Then Jibreel loves him, and he announces in the heavens: “Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.” Then the inhabitants of the heavens love him, and acceptance is placed for him on the earth.”

📍 Imam al-Ridha (AS) taught us not to be deceived by worldly matters that cause us to deviate from the path of truth, no matter what is offered to us or what we have
🔸 We always have to remember that our trial in this life does not begin and end with saying the Shahada only, nor just in performing the daily prayers but extend beyond all of that to every aspect in our lives
It was narrated that Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said:
🔸 When a person's heart is attached to the world, he will be distracted with it, and distractions distance a person from the remembrance of Allah, and the lack of remembrance of Allah makes a person vulnerable to sin and deviation
Allah Almighty (SWT) said in Surat al-Hadid verse 20:
Allah describes it as:
🔸 We all know that this life is temporary and it is never ever meant to be complete, perfect and free from struggles. It’s a temporary life, no matter how long it may seem, it is nothing but temporary enjoyment and then we pass away
🔸 But sometimes, humans get distracted by other worldly matters and feel pressured by the temptations that end up causing them to go against Islamic principles and values, sometimes humans get distracted with what they earn or have, which causes them to deviate or sin
🔸 What Imam al-Ridha (AS) taught us, is that no matter what we may earn, no matter what we may have, we must never allow it to be a distraction from Allah and it must never be the reason of us selling out our faith, principles and religion
🔸 In order to learn from Imam al-Ridha (AS) and follow his path, we must always remember not to be tempted by the worldly matters, positions, and what we may possess. A common issue is when someone earns a status or position or wealth or fame or whatever it may be, here a new trial takes place, will the person uphold Islamic values and principles or get carried away by his ego? Will he maintain his principles or not? Will a person sell out his faith and religion to obtain the position and status for more power and control or not? Will he let arrogance overcome his religion to the point that he disobey Allah and do what He dislikes or not?
🔸 Look at today’s reality... How many rulers do we see who turned their back against Islamic principles for worldly matters and the political power and position? Seeing heinous crimes and massacres being committed, while they remain silent to preserve their wealth and power? Not just for rulers but also for the people, how many would change, turn against Islamic principles and do what displeases Allah in order to gain a promotion and higher position in their workplace?
That is the exact timeless lesson, wisdom and reminder by Allah (SWT) given to us through the journey of Imam al-Ridha (AS)…
🔸 This lesson applies to everyone, not just rulers. Every individual is tested in their own capacity, at work, in social circles, or even within family. Whether it's through wealth, recognition, influence, or the desire to fit in, each situation asks: will you remain true to your Islamic principles, or will you compromise them for fleeting worldly gain?

🔸 We always have to remember that our trial in this life does not begin and end with saying the Shahada only, nor just in performing the daily prayers but extend beyond all of that to every aspect in our lives
It was narrated that Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said:
“The root of every sin is the love of the world.”
🔸 When a person's heart is attached to the world, he will be distracted with it, and distractions distance a person from the remembrance of Allah, and the lack of remembrance of Allah makes a person vulnerable to sin and deviation
Allah Almighty (SWT) said in Surat al-Hadid verse 20:
{Know that this worldly life is no more than play, amusement, luxury, mutual boasting, and competition in wealth and children.}
Allah describes it as:
{life of this world is no more than the delusion of enjoyment.}
🔸 We all know that this life is temporary and it is never ever meant to be complete, perfect and free from struggles. It’s a temporary life, no matter how long it may seem, it is nothing but temporary enjoyment and then we pass away
🔸 But sometimes, humans get distracted by other worldly matters and feel pressured by the temptations that end up causing them to go against Islamic principles and values, sometimes humans get distracted with what they earn or have, which causes them to deviate or sin
🔸 What Imam al-Ridha (AS) taught us, is that no matter what we may earn, no matter what we may have, we must never allow it to be a distraction from Allah and it must never be the reason of us selling out our faith, principles and religion
🔸 In order to learn from Imam al-Ridha (AS) and follow his path, we must always remember not to be tempted by the worldly matters, positions, and what we may possess. A common issue is when someone earns a status or position or wealth or fame or whatever it may be, here a new trial takes place, will the person uphold Islamic values and principles or get carried away by his ego? Will he maintain his principles or not? Will a person sell out his faith and religion to obtain the position and status for more power and control or not? Will he let arrogance overcome his religion to the point that he disobey Allah and do what He dislikes or not?
