In the past few days I have felt very disconnected from it all. I've been on the road more than at home and such an extended period of in between has schismed my sense of unity with things around me. And in consideration of the concrete jungle that I have been driving through it is becoming more and more important that I recognize that the urban spirits are nature spirits too.
To be druid is to recognize the concrete gnomes as just as important as those of the rolling hills, to see the spirit of the lamppost as just as important as the spirit of fire. One can be a part of nature in places other than the forests, plains, mountains, and deserts.
I would like to find my forever home in such places one day. It is hard to see the spirits of nature in the suburbs even as I say they are here. But for now I will have to comfort myself in the idea that the urban druid is just as valid.
