⚡️ In accordance with the agreement between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump to step up contacts to discuss international issues and bilateral agenda, on February 18, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov held talks in Riyadh with a US delegation represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
The participants discussed a broad range of issues, including prospects for normalising bilateral relations. The sides agreed to appoint respective ambassadors as soon as possible, and to start consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers to remove restrictions on activities of the diplomatic missions of the two countries.
The Sides agreed to establish a dialogue to identify ways to resume cooperation in the economy, including energy, outer space exploration, and other areas of mutual interest.
The Sides exchanged views on the situation surrounding Ukraine and reiterated their mutual commitment to settle the conflict.
❗️ The Russian side emphasised the importance of eliminating the root causes of the conflict, creating proper conditions for achieving a lasting and enduring peace, and ensuring security and legitimate interests of all countries in the region. An agreement was reached to continue joint work in this area through special envoys to be appointed in the near future.
The Sides agreed to resume communication channels to discuss other international issues, being mindful of Russia and the United States’ special responsibility in matters of peace and security as nuclear powers and permanent members of the UN Security Council. The interest in continuing joint work to prepare the meeting between the Russian and American presidents was confirmed.
During their stay in Riyadh, Sergey Lavrov and Yury Ushakov were received by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. They expressed gratitude for the excellent organisation of #RussiaUS talks. The participants discussed matters related to implementing the agreements on comprehensive expansion of bilateral relations reached by President Vladimir Putin and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

⚓️ On February 16, 2025, an opening ceremony for the 5th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2025 was held in Bali, attended by the crews of a detachment from the Pacific Fleet consisting of the corvettes Rezky and Hero of Russia Aldar Tsydenzhapov, as well as the support vessel Pechenga.

The Leaders discussed issues related to the prisoner exchange between Russia and the United States. The US President assured the Russian President of the American side's commitment to fulfill all the agreements reached.
The Leaders also discussed a possible Ukraine settlement. Donald Trump spoke in favour of stopping the hostilities as soon as possible and solving the crisis peacefully. In turn, Vladimir Putin pointed out it was necessary to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and agreed with Donald Trump in that a sustainable settlement could only be reached via peaceful negotiations.
❗️ Additionally, the Russian President expressed support for one of the US President's key arguments, which was that it's time for both countries to work together.

⚡️Comment of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Indonesia
✍️ We have noticed the article by Ukrainian Ambassador V.Hamianin titled «Global attention, care needed as now wars are isolated» published in The Jakarta Post on February 7, 2025. Without any hesitation, he claims that «everything changed overnight» in 2022 after «the Big Aggression». Let us one last time remind the Ukrainian diplomat that the conflict did not begin in 2022.
❗️The root cause lies in the events of the year 2014, when an armed coup d'état, actively supported by the United States and the European Union, brought radical nationalist forces to power in Kiev. Since then, the totalitarian regime in Kiev has been systematically violating human rights, particularly those of ethnic Russians and Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine. This has included spreading Russophobia, falsifying history of the Great Patriotic War, glorifying Nazi collaborators, and committing acts of aggression against civilians in the Donbass region. Long before 2022, the people of Donbass had lost hope in any protection of their rights by the Ukrainian state, facing ongoing violence and repression. Why did no one ever talk about uniting «for the sake of humanity, justice, peace», but instead resorted to shelling and continues to shell peaceful towns and villages, killing civilians in Donbass, the Kursk region, and other parts of Russia?
👉 We note that V.Hamianin has finally recognized, albeit at the end of his short tenure in Indonesia, that the world has grown weary of the narrative portraying Ukraine as a perpetual victim and Russia as the sole aggressor. To help him grasp the full picture, we clarify that what people are truly tired of are Zelensky's fabrications, the Kiev regime's belligerent policies, and the West's double standards, which have both ignited and prolonged this conflict.
⛔️ Additionally, V.Hamianin wonders «how much poorer has the world become since the war». It is crucial to emphasize that the anti-Russian sanctions and restrictive measures imposed by the collective West have become the primary cause of many of the current global economic problems, including energy and food crises. These sanctions have severely disrupted global supply chains, destabilized trade and investment flows, worsened the debt burden for many nations, and reduced access to critical goods, services, financing, and technology. By undermining the principles of fair competition and triggering geoeconomic fragmentation, the West's policies have divided the global economy into isolated blocs and deepened economic inequality.
So, there is no need to do anything extraordinary. Just stop being NATO's proxy and look at the real aspirations of all the people living in Ukraine, regardless of language, religion, or views, and this will end all the hostilities. This, as a matter of fact, is easy to see even from Congo.

⚓️ International security symposium is held in Indonesia as part of Komodo 2025 Naval Exercise

Cultural and sporting events are planned for the ships' crews as part of strengthening international naval cooperation.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Vladimir Vorobyov spoke on behalf of the Russian delegation.
‘Firstly, I should note that the Komodo multinational exercise is held and organised by the Indonesian side for the fifth time. The goal of the event is to develop and strengthen the cooperation in the naval field. It is exclusively humanitarian in nature.
The main focus of the exercise is to practise a set of joint actions by ship and vessel military personnel taking part in the exercise to provide assistance to ships in distress at sea and to rescue crew members. Two modern corvettes of the Project 20380 are representing the Russian Navy at the exercise this year. These are the Pacific Fleet’s corvettes Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov and Rezky. The vessels are escorted by the tanker Pechenga.
The military personnel and equipment are ready for the exercise and further continuation of long-distance sailing tasks,’ stressed the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.
Cultural and sporting events are planned for the ships' crews as part of strengthening international naval cooperation.

• The Russian side, represented by Rosatom, is ready to offer its expertise to Indonesia for the construction of the country’s first nuclear power plant, whether large or small, land-based or floating. The corvettes Rezky and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov took part in the opening ceremony of the Komodo 2025 international naval exercise in the city of Denpasar on the Bali Island, the Republic of Indonesia.

Heads of the Indonesian Navy and Air Force, as well as ministers and the governor of Bali, attended the solemn event. It was a national and cultural event. 🗓 On February 5, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in a roundtable discussion "The Ukraine Crisis: Failed Cancel Culture".
The event, organised by the Diplomatic Academy with the support of the Foreign Ministry of Russia, brought together 95 Ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow, as well as international associations.
In his remarks, Sergey Lavrov strongly condemned the attempts by Washington and its European satellites to cancel all things Russian: discriminate against Russian media, ban the use of the Russian language and Russian culture, and falsify historical facts. He pointed out the aggressive Russophobia of the Kiev regime which has launched a campaign to eradicate any trace of Russian cultural presence.
❗️ The Minister stated that the course to isolate Russia had completely failed which is confirmed by large-scale international activities of both the country and its leadership on the global, regional, and bilateral levels. Russia’s leading positions can be reaffirmed by a large number of international scientific, cultural, sports and youth events which are held regularly on its territory as well as student exchanges and projects to promote the Russian language and Russian education.
Sergey Lavrov also highlighted the celebrations to be held in 2025 in honour of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which Russia was preparing to widely celebrate together with its partners.
The participants in the roundtable discussion held a vivid discussion of the Ukrainian crisis and other topical issues on the international agenda.
