One example: Over Albanese's term, they removed the LMITO in 2022, effectively increasing the tax rate of most income earners. Two years later, they introduced broad income tax relief.

The tax cut, however, was smaller than the LMITO. Meaning that most people are paying more in tax at the end of Albanese's term.

Does this matter? No, the average Aussie is too dumb to realise this. Good politics 👍🏻

Peter Kreeft outlines that it is not the political system that is important, rather the people that operate said system; as bad people will inevitably pervert a good system for their own means, and good people will improve bad systems (Kreeft, The God Who Loves You: Love Divine, All Loves Excelling, Ch. 10).
