Bahraini security forces have reportedly arrested eulogy reciter Mahdi Sahwan, who is known for reciting eulogies for the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain - Prophet Muhammad’s grandson.

Sahwan’s arrest came at the backdrop of a recent eulogy he was delivering for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib, in which he expressed solidarity with Gaza and criticized the US ambassador in Bahrain. Sahwan has been arrested in the past for his criticism of the Bahraini regime.

The action comes in the wake of continuous security escalation against religious activities. The authorities had previously banned Sahwan from traveling abroad to participate in religious activities during last year’s Ashura season.

Congressman Thomas Massie has introduced new legislation mandating full disclosure of dual citizenship status by all candidates for federal office. The Dual Loyalty Disclosure Act, introduced on 26 March, would amend the Federal Election Campaign Act to require candidates to publicly declare dual citizenship and the foreign country in question at the time of filing their statement of candidacy. Massie says the move is intended to enhance transparency and ensure that voters are fully informed about potential conflicts of interest among political candidates.

“Dual citizens elected to the United States Congress should renounce citizenship in all other countries,” Massie said. “At a minimum, they should disclose their citizenship in other countries and abstain from votes specifically benefitting those countries.” His legislation comes amid growing scrutiny over foreign lobbying influence in Washington.

In a June 2024 interview with Tucker Carlson, Massie openly criticized the power of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), stating, “Every Republican in Congress has an AIPAC babysitter.” The remark has gone viral amid the launch of the “Reject AIPAC” coalition that aims to curb the influence of pro-Israel lobbying on US politics.

At the University of Cincinnati, police arrested a student affiliated with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) during a fundraising event. According to witnesses, officers did not read the individual their Miranda rights or acknowledge habeas corpus protections. The police allegedly attempted to seize the student’s belongings, including a backpack and phone, without a warrant. Another SJP member was also profiled and assaulted by officers during the incident.

The arrest has intensified scrutiny of the University of Cincinnati’s campus climate. In November 2024, a flyer for SJP was defaced with Islamophobic slurs and left in a campus prayer room.
A group of prominent Muslim scholars, led by Ali al-Qaradaghi of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), has issued a rare religious decree (fatwa) calling on Muslim-majority countries to take action—militarily, economically, and politically—against Israel in response to the ongoing war in Gaza, which has lasted 17 months. The fatwa condemns any support for Israel, including selling weapons or allowing transport through key trade routes. It urges Muslim nations to review peace treaties with Israel and demands a blockade against the country.

The decree comes amid escalating violence in Gaza, with over 50,000 Palestinians killed since October 2023. Recent Israeli airstrikes have destroyed shelters, schools, and essential infrastructure. Prime Minister Netanyahu has vowed to increase military pressure on Hamas unless the group releases Israeli hostages, while Hamas insists on a permanent ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal before negotiations.
Laura Loomer, a far-right activist and conspiracy theorist with a history of inflammatory rhetoric, met with Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Wednesday. During the meeting, she reportedly urged Trump to fire national security officials she deemed disloyal. Soon after, Trump dismissed the director and deputy director of the National Security Agency, with Loomer celebrating the move online.

Loomer, 31, has been banned from multiple social media platforms for racist and anti-Muslim remarks. She has promoted conspiracy theories, including 9/11 denial, and previously made racist attacks against Kamala Harris. Though not officially part of Trump’s campaign, she has maintained a close connection with him and even traveled with him during 9/11 events last year.

Despite public controversy, Trump has defended Loomer, calling her a "very good patriot" and saying she only made personnel recommendations.

Hamdan Ballal, co-director of the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, has been released after being brutally beaten by Jewish settlers and detained by the Israeli military in the occupied West Bank. The incident occurred on Monday evening in the village of Susiya, where masked settlers reportedly assaulted residents with rocks and sticks, leaving Ballal with head and stomach injuries. As he was being treated in an ambulance, soldiers detained him and another Palestinian man, later transferring them to a military facility without explanation.

Ballal’s release was confirmed by Israeli co-director Yuval Abraham on Tuesday. The attack is part of a broader campaign of settler violence in Masafer Yatta, which is the focus of No Other Land — a film documenting the Israeli regime’s efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians from the region. Ballal’s colleagues believe the assault was in retaliation for the film’s global success, including its Oscar win. Activists on the ground described the scene as a “lynching,” while video footage showed settlers also attacking international peace activists. This is not the first time members of the No Other Land team have faced violence, as co-director Basel Adra was similarly violently attacked last year.

At least 38 Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hours as Israeli occupation forces intensified its aggression on residential areas across Gaza, bringing the death toll since 18 March to over 830, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza. Twelve people, including five children and a mother, were massacred in Beit Lahia alone, while airstrikes and tank fire hit homes in Rafah, Khan Younis, and the Bureij refugee camp. The total death toll since 7 October 2023 now stands at 50,183. The UN reports over 124,000 newly displaced people and warns Gaza’s collapsed health system is nearing total failure.

In a new escalation, Israeli forces abducted 15 paramedics and civil defence workers in Rafah while they were responding to injured civilians. Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned the kidnappings as war crimes and appealed to international bodies for immediate intervention. Hospitals are overwhelmed, with trauma units operating at over 80% capacity, severe shortages in medical supplies, and ongoing calls for blood donations. As the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on Gaza intensifies with U.S. support, it continues to face war crimes charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

US warplanes launched a wave of airstrikes across northern Yemen late on 25 March, including a second strike on the Al-Rasool al-Azam cancer hospital in Saada, which was left in ruins. Local media reported at least 24 airstrikes, with 17 targeting Saada Governorate, two hitting Sufyan, and five striking Sahar.

A Yemeni security source stated that the repeated bombing of the oncology centre demonstrates the “American aggression’s blatant disregard for civilian life.” The US resumed bombing Yemen earlier this month following the YAF’s reimposed blockade on Israeli shipping in the Red Sea.

In response, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced a multi-branch military operation targeting US warships in the Red Sea, including the aircraft carrier USS Truman. On 15 March, US airstrikes on Sanaa killed at least 51 people. Since the Israeli regime renewed its genocidal war on Gaza on 18 March, the YAF has responded with six ballistic missile strikes against Tel Aviv, as regional uncertainty and conflict continues to escalate.
Yizhak Meir Sabo, a 43-year-old Zionist Rabbi and former Director of Jewish Life at Akiba Yavneh Academy in Dallas, was arrested on April 1 and charged with indecency with a child involving sexual contact. According to the report, Sabo repeatedly pulled down a male student’s pants and touched his genitals while he was in grades 9-12. He also watched him shower and sent inappropriate messages.

The school learned of the allegations on March 27, promptly notified parents and authorities, and placed Sabo on administrative leave. Akiba Yavneh Academy emphasized that the allegations do not involve students or staff from its early childhood or lower school programs. The school is also conducting its own investigation. Sabo’s bond has been set at $100,000.

Notably, Sabo had previously spread unverified claims of ‘mass sexual violence’ by Palestinians resistance fighters during the military operation on October 7th.
The Trump administration is cutting federal family planning funding for Planned Parenthood under the Title X program, in efforts to limit abortions, which are viewed by most religions as the killing of unborn babies. Opponents argue the move impacts birth control, cancer screenings, and other healthcare services for low-income individuals. Nine Planned Parenthood affiliates received notice that funding would be withheld, with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) reportedly freezing $27.5 million in grants.

Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson warned the cuts would lead to undetected cancers, reduced birth control access, and rising sexually transmitted infections. She accused Trump and Elon Musk—who is leading a government spending review—of pushing a political agenda. Conservatives have long targeted Planned Parenthood due to its abortion services, though federal funds for most abortions have been banned since 1977.

On the final Friday of the month of Ramadan, thousands gathered across the U.S. to observe Quds Day, an annual demonstration advocating for Palestinian liberation and justice. As Israeli aggression continues with U.S. support, similar protests erupted in major cities across the country.

This year, Quds Day demonstrations took place nationwide, from Times Square in New York to rallies in San Francisco, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. Protesters of all ages called for an end to civilian casualties in Palestine and urged that U.S. tax dollars be allocated to domestic priorities instead of funding military actions abroad.

At least seven people were killed and several others injured on 25 March after Israeli occupation forces brutally launched airstrikes and artillery fire on the town of Koya in Syria’s southern Deraa province. The Israeli army claimed it targeted “terrorists” who allegedly fired at its forces. In addition to the airstrike, Israeli tanks shelled the Yarmouk Basin area, forcing residents to flee, while troops reportedly stormed the town during rescue efforts for the wounded.

The aggression marks the latest escalation in the Israeli regime’s deepening occupation of southern Syria following the collapse of the Assad government. Overnight, Israeli jets also struck military installations in Palmyra and T4 airbase, continuing a campaign of strikes across the country. Tel Aviv has razed key Syrian military infrastructure and is now constructing permanent bases in the south. There has been no official comment from the new Syrian authorities, as an Israeli military presence in Syria appears indefinite.
In a February interview with the Wide Awake Podcast, Errol Musk, Elon’s father, confirmed that the Musk and Netanyahu families have been friends for years.

Before Trump became president, Netanyahu referred to Elon as the "De facto President of the United States" and "Not Biden."

Leaked emails reveal a British intelligence effort to silence political scientists like Richard Sakwa, a leading expert on Russia. In a March 2022 email titled “Russians in Our Universities,” reviewed by the GrayZone, British intelligence officer Chris Donnelly labeled Sakwa a Russian “fellow traveler” and sought to link him to Russian funding—despite no evidence. Donnelly contacted lawmakers to suppress Sakwa’s influence, fearing he would lead calls to reassess Western policy toward Russia after the Ukraine war. This effort followed then-Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi’s pledge to crack down on anti-war academics. Donnelly, previously exposed for his role in Project Alchemy—a secret British military operation supporting Ukraine—was also involved in blacklisting journalists and controlling the war narrative.
