Op mijn biologische landbouwbedrijf in Medemblik teel ik onder meer bloemkool en broccoli. Dat verloopt best succesvol. In de landbouw heb je ieder jaar met natuurlijke invloeden te maken, maar ook met een overheid die ieder jaar de regels verandert waaraan boeren en tuinders zich dienen te houden.
Een voorbeeld van zo’n verandering is dat in Noord-Holland de houtduif in het groeiseizoen niet meer bejaagd mag worden. Maar juist in het groeiseizoen zijn bloemkool en broccoli gevoelig voor vraat door houtduiven. Op het moment dat het hartje van de kool gevormd wordt, is dat zeer aantrekkelijk voor houtduiven. Ze vreten het hartje uit de kool waardoor er geen kool meer kan worden gevormd. Schade voor de tuinder dus.

Students continue to collect signatures to submit a collective appeal to the rector of the university.

The VGIK administration wants everyone to pass only with biometrics and forces everyone to take it. We are not against the installation of biometric devices, but we are against the idea that it would be possible to enter the university only with biometrics. Now all first-year students do not have passes, only student cards. The administration hopes to force them to take biometrics in this way," notes the creator of the student initiative group.
