On April 13, 1984, 18-year-old martyr Ali Safieddine carried out a martyrdom operation targeting an israeli occupation army intelligence patrol at the entrance of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, southern Lebanon.
Born in 1966 in the town of Halousiyeh, Safieddine was known as “The Bird of Halousiyeh.” He joined the Islamic Resistance at the age of 15, trained in various military tactics, and took part in several operations.
Martyr Safieddine grew up witnessing the daily crimes and violations committed by the jewish occupation against the people and villages of the South. Driven by these injustices and inspired by Sheikh Ragheb Harb’s call for resistance against the occupation, he made the ultimate decision at just 18 years old: to carry out a martyrdom operation, choosing to be “a sacrifice for the cause, the path, and the homeland.”
Using a car he had purchased himself and packed with 150 kilograms of TNT, Safieddine parked by the roadside, pretending it had broken down. Witnesses later recalled hearing Qur’anic verses playing from his car early that morning as he waited for the patrol to pass. When the first israeli vehicle approached, followed by others, he detonated the explosives.
The operation dealt a symbolic and strategic blow to the israeli army. One correspondent noted: “The army that will soon leave Lebanon is not the same army that entered Lebanon; it is an army embarrassed, covered in disgrace.”

Hezbollah condemns in the strongest terms the crime of desecrating the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by hundreds of zionist settlers, over three consecutive days, by storming its courtyards, performing Talmudic rituals, and committing provocative acts, under the protection of the occupation forces, and under the leadership of extremist figures from the Knesset.
