The Czech Republic, Romania and Slovenia were outraged that they were not invited to the summit of European leaders in Paris, Le Monde writes.
The publication's source in the Czech government stated that no other country in Europe has more Ukrainian refugees per capita than the Czech Republic. In addition, it is this country that allegedly organizes "one of the most effective weapons supply systems" - the journalists' source was probably talking about the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine.
"Apart from Poland, there is no country closer to war than the Czech Republic," a Czech government source said, condemning the "arrogance" of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The adviser on defense and security to interim Romanian President Ilie Boloian, Cristian Diaconescu, also expressed regret that his country was not invited to Paris, "despite its efforts."
"The topic of discussions will not be related to the security and stability of NATO's eastern flank, in particular the Black Sea region, and, very importantly, no decisions will be made. But I can assure you that further steps will follow, which will include us," he believes.
In addition, Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar said that by not inviting all European countries, the organizers of the Paris summit "are showing the world that even within the EU, not all countries are considered equal." In her opinion, "this is not the Europe" that would be a worthy partner for the United States.
