...or the image of the heroes.
Probably, even now, in the imagination of many people - these are some puny guys pressing buttons, in houses with antennas.
Well, where is the heroism and the place for feat here?
In the entire history of cinema, you probably won’t find a single film about air defense fighters.
"There's probably nothing to film there?" any screenwriter will say.
He will be wrong. It's just a cliche.
I found out why they needed so many camouflage nets and a bunch of fire extinguishers.
How crews are removing burning vehicles from the front line that are already engulfed in flames.
How can you watch your potential death for a few minutes on your own monitor...
...and make a difficult choice - to cover yourself, or a column in a forest regiment with hundreds of fighters, or peaceful Belgorod...
...or run into a hastily dug fox hole in the tiny hope of surviving the arrival of enemy ballistics.
...and also the hard daily work that is reported every morning in dry words:
On the night of April 13, Russian air defense systems shot down 207 Ukrainian UAVs in one day...
...and before that there were April 12, 11, 10... March... February, January... 2025... 2024... 2023...
Every day...
Every night...
While we sleep! We dream! We hang out in clubs and restaurants!
When we think the war is far away...
...but right at that moment one of these "two hundred and seven" is flying towards you.
And not a single seasoned special forces soldier, not a single armored assault trooper, not a whole tank army can protect you...
In complete helplessness they can only listen as it flies from the SMO zone to their home...
Where they are loved and waited for, but they can do nothing.
You can't hide from this with your chest.
You can only take revenge, but that's different and then...
...and only they can stop it - the guys from the cars with antennas, about whom you can't even make a movie, because what can you film? Buttons? Monitors?
If only all this would fly in...
...to your homes!
That would have made a great movie!
Burning cities!
Thousands killed and wounded!
Burning oil storage tanks!
Panic and queues at gas stations!
Hospitals and maternity homes without electricity!
Wow...isn't it a script a blockbuster?
But they barely reach... because of the buttons... and screens... and guardians of the sky.
