Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir, Al-Jalalayn, and Tabari affirm in their tafsir that this verse refers to temporary marriage. For instance, sunnah.com lists multiple Hadiths that show how widespread and normalized Mut’a was during the Prophet’s time.

Eventually, this practice was abrogated. A hadith in Ibn Majah recounts how Caliph Umar declared Mut’a forbidden and threatened severe punishment for anyone caught engaging in it, unless they could prove the Prophet allowed it after it was banned.

This historical shift raises concerning questions. If a practice was permitted by the Prophet multiple times and later prohibited by a Caliph, it suggests inconsistencies in divine law and its implementation. That’s the core issue raised here—not just the practice itself, but the way it was legislated, accepted, and then reversed. When one gay Swan dies, the other remains single and alone till they die. Swans take monogamy seriously, that is why you see them in love cards! It is hard to suggest homosexuality is unnatural when it is there in nature. You know what is unnatural, believing in sky daddies and killing each other over who has a better sky daddy. Other than in humans, it is not found in nature, now isn't that ironic!

and I did not understand it. It sounded like women who the Khalifa or wealthy men have on the side as extra-marital legal in a way under Islam. Always presented on the side line of fun or comedy TV sketches. What I did not expect is the horror of what this really means. It is the selling, buying, and owning of women as sex slaves usually taken as war bounty. Where did this trade come from? It comes from the term Melk Alymein
(ما ملكت إيمانكم & ملك اليمين)
or what your right hand possess. Mentioned in the Quran at least 14 times: Quran [4:23-24];[16:71]; [23:5-6]; [24: 31-33-58]; [30:28]; [33:50- 52 -55]; [70:27-30] And as you can see confirmed in the Hadith.

In Warsh, ("for that which") imply a specific purpose or subset of revelations, affecting the message, succession, and Muhammad’s role as the final messenger.

Quran 2:125 Cario Copy: “And take from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer.” Warsh Copy: “And they took the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer.” Cario Copy is a ‘command’, but the Warsh is an ‘action’ done by others in the past.

Quran 1:4 is fundamentally the surah that is read the most in Islam, Surah Al Fatiha. Cario Copy: “...Master of the Day of Judgement.” Warsh Copy: “...King of the Day of Judgement.” The words are similar and could have easily confused Maalik and Malik, but they convey different perspectives of Allah. Is Allah the King of the master and owner of the judgement day?

Finally, you have probably heard of the Birmingham Quran manuscript, one of the oldest surviving fragments carbon-dated back to the date of the Prophet, which contains parts of Surahs 18 to 20. It aligns closely with the current Quranic text but shows minor differences in orthography (spelling conventions) and diacritical marks (used for pronunciation). All these challenges to the Quran instigated the famous ‘holes in the narrative’ incident that became ever so famous in the West when Islamic dawah who fought teeth and nail to defend the perfect preservation of the Quran had to pull back and admit there are ‘holes in the narrative’ in such claim. So much so that now the focus is on the ‘message’ being preserved rather than the claim that the Quran is preserved sentence by sentence, word by word, letter by letter.

For our American readers, you really need to read James Haley (2016): The Shores of Tripoli: Lieutenant Putnam and the Barbary Pirates https://amzn.eu/d/e26Vzmo – This historical event takes place when the Islamic pirates of Tripoli (Libya) took over USS Philadelphia and with it the 307 officers and sailors as slaves. Thomas Jefferson (then the U.S. ambassador to France), met with the Tripolitan ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman Barbar in London in 1803 to argue for their release explaining that The United States (just over 10 years old) was never at war with Islam or the Arab world, never kidnapped or was involved in any of the wars with Muslims. But this is the response he got from the Tripolitan ambassador:

“It was written in the Quran that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority (of the Quran) were infidel; that it is our right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners; and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

Sound familiar? Because the wording closely resembles what you read in Quran 9:5 and 9:29 from one of the last chapters of the Quran (See Reason 1 for leaving Islam). This resulted in the USA sending Lieutenant Stephen Decatur and his men to destroy the ships in Tripoli’s harbour to prevent their use by the enemy. Some may argue this was the first time the USA got involved in direct confrontation with Islam. The story has a good ending: the USA smashed the Barbar Slavery network, and all the American slaves were freed.

In the next and final part, we discuss what finally ended slavery in Islam. Hint: It was not the Quran nor the Prophet, and it most definitely had nothing to do with Islam.

If Islam has strong and convincing arguments, there would not be apostasy laws. Hardly anyone would leave. If Islam is secured in its knowledge and does not have anything to hide, it will welcome critics to challenge it openly without intimidation or threats. But believing in Islam is a process of brainwashing that is repeated throughout our lives where they tell us "We have perfect arguments. Islam is the perfect message by the perfect messenger that is sent to the perfect God." Yet, parallel to that and without flinching, we are told "Anyone who leaves Islam, anyone who criticises Islam, and under Shariah, anyone who does not fast, pray, or abide by Islam - they have to be executed!"

If you read those two statements and cannot see there is a problem, you suffer from a condition called "Doublethink". First introduced in the book 1984, it talks about the brainwashing process used by authoritarian governments to make you believe anything even when the facts are completely contradictory to each other. Islam is the authoritarianism of the brain. That makes most Mu'mens (not all) believe that it is a "religion of peace" but simultaneously believe every apostate and critic should be terminated as per Shariah Law - " And we will be watching. And we are proud of that," - as infamously said by that 🤡 Ali Dawah.

Imagine you really had the perfect religion. Not a single scientific or logical issue, not a single embarrassing verse of underage marriages or owning women as slaves, filled with real and marvellous scientific miracles that scientists are actually finding answers from it and not "scientists discover something and we twist the verses to make them sound like they are talking about it!'

Just imagine a perfect messenger who loved anyone, never owned a slave, demanded all slavery abandoned immediately, married one person because of her character not looks, over the age of 18, and together as equals they spread this perfect message! They say you judge the tree by the fruits it produces - and so far "the religion of peace " is proving to be a poisonous fruit that harms more people than any other major religion. And if you examine it independently from emotions, Islam has all the hallmarks of a cult. From the strict adherence to rules, to severe punishments for apostasy, and reverence of its leader who we should include in every prayer long side god, treasure everything he said or did - but simultaneously declared he is not a god but a humble human being. Welcome to Islam the religion of doublethink.

Moderates are right when they say they have been the biggest victims of Islamic fundamentalists. They too are responsible for it. They refuse to allow open debate, liberty to express lack of faith, for only then we are able to debate the extremist and shocking content of Islam. And having more irreligious, agnostics, and atheists in our society is healthy in allowing a challenge to the fundamentalists narrative. We need doubt in our faith, we need to question what we see, we need to have a balance of faith whereby people know Islam is not perfect but let's see what happens.

The person blowing himself has blind faith that their religion is absolutely perfect, the person joining these terrorist groups has blind faith their religion is perfect and is reading the Quran literally as a manual. If they had even 0.001% of a doubt, they would not do it, they would not pull that trigger! And that is why we need to challenge Islam! Sometimes moderates don't realise they are not helping!

Learn the history of the Hijab and the sequence of events leading to the obligation of the Hijab as laid out in the hadith are as follows:

Umar repeatedly asks Muhammad that Allah should reveal verses for the Qur'an pertaining to the veiling of women.

No such revelation is sent down.

Umar follows Muhammad's wives one night when they go out to relieve themselves (go to the toilet) and calls out to Muhammad's wife Sauda.

Sauda goes home in a state of embarrassment and relates to Muhammad what has happened.

Allah then reveals the hijab verse as Umar had wanted all along.
