While the Trump Administration is escalating tensions with Beijing through a soaring trade war, Chinese President Xi Jinping is on a tour of Southeast Asia, where he’s promoting free trade, and presenting China as a source of “stability and certainty,” at a time when the U.S. is the opposite.

Journalist and Geopolitical Analyst Danny Haiphong noted that the U.S. is actively engaged in a three-front proxy war against China, Russia and Iran, and that while Washington is trying to preserve U.S. hegemony, it’s also worried about other nations choosing to work with China and furthering the rise of the multipolar world.

Trump's tariff tantrum is up to 145% taxes on the nearly $440 BILLION in Chinese products the US imports every year (a tax that will be paid by American consumers)

He seems to think China is going to back down, but Beijing has done the opposite, retaliating with 125% tariffs...

Zelensky has traded in North Koreans for Chinese... as he claims Kiev's forces captured two Chinese nationals fighting alongside the Russians.

China has announced plans to impose 34% retaliatory tariffs on all goods imported from the U.S., after President Trump raised tariffs on imports from China up to 54% and global markets were sent reeling as a result.

But as we’ve been reminded by a recently reported leaked memo to the Pentagon, the Trump Admin isn’t just pursuing an economic war with China, they’re actively preparing for a direct war...

Trump is throwing out tariffs like candy, leading to fears over the impact on the global economy… but those aren’t the only tensions his Administration is pursuing right now, as it continues to support a proxy war against Russia, plans for war with China, and has increased the U.S. military presence in the Middle East in anticipation of an attack on Iran.

Trump is wasting no time sending tensions with Iran soaring, as he threatens to bomb the country if Tehran doesn’t agree to a version of the JCPOA (the deal Trump withdrew the U.S. from in 2018). This, as Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth orders the Pentagon to deploy an additional aircraft carrier and more U.S. air assets to the Middle East.

Patrick Henningsen, Host of the 21st Century Wire, noted that the Trump Admin is threatening a “preemptive attack” on Iran, despite the U.S. Intelligence Community concluding that Tehran is “not building a nuclear weapon.” He also suggested that if the U.S. is serious about a deal, then they should address the biggest threat in the Middle East that is holding the region hostage: Israel, with its undeclared nuclear arsenal of an estimated 200+ warheads.

As if it weren't enough for the US to lose a proxy war against Russia... the Trump Admin seems to want to lose a proxy war against Russia AND China, as a reported memo from Def. Sec Pete Hegseth is directing the Pentagon to prepare for war with China over Taiwan.

This, as China’s foreign minister is in Moscow, declaring that Russia and China are “friends forever, never enemies.”

Apparently, he doesn't, because he's now lashing out at Putin for raising concerns about Zelensky's legitimacy, and threatening tariffs if Russia doesn't agree to a deal to end the war...

Trump seems to think threatening tariffs and sanctions is going to get him somewhere... but with Russia, he's in for a wake-up call.

President Donald Trump said he was “very angry” and “pissed off” when Russian President Vladimir Putin criticised the credibility of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s leadership, adding that the comments were “not going in the right location.”

“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” Trump said in an early-morning phone call with NBC News on Sunday.

“That would be that if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States,” Trump said. “There will be a 25% tariff on all oil, a 25- to 50-point tariff on all oil.”

Brian Berletic, a geopolitical analyst and Host of The New Atlas, noted that while Trump campaigned on ending wars and pursuing peace, his actions during the first two months of his second term have been classic continuity of agenda: pushing for a ceasefire in Ukraine, while looking for ways to rearm Kiev’s military and preparing Europe to increase its direct involvement in the proxy war against Russia, so that the U.S. can focus on a proxy war against China.

The White House says President Trump “fully supports Israel and the IDF and the actions that they’ve taken in recent days,” even though those actions have included the slaughter of hundreds of Palestinian civilians, including more than 200 children, as Israel broke the ceasefire deal with Hamas and resumed its genocidal bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

With Israel’s defense minister now threatening to increase the land invasion and annex portions of the Gaza Strip, it sounds like he’s listening to Trump’s proclamations that the U.S. is just going to take over Gaza and expel the Palestinians.

After all, why would Israel adhere to the ceasefire and try to prevent civilian casualties when Trump is fast-tracking $3 BILLION in weapons and giving them everything they could ever want on a silver platter, including bombing Yemen and threatening war against Iran?

While Putin and Trump agreed to a limited ceasefire on the targeting of energy infrastructure during today's call, the Kremlin said Putin also warned Trump that Kiev can't be trusted, and that if Washington is serious about ending the war, they must cut off support for Ukraine.

Today's phone call was a reminder that while Trump is ready to get this war wrapped up, Putin knows Russia is winning and has a long list of demands that need to be met before a permanent ceasefire can be reached.

The Trump Admin is sounding very optimistic about an end to the war in Ukraine, with Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff claiming there’s a “relatively short distance to a full ceasefire” ahead of plans for US-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia on Monday.

But Russia has made it clear that they’re wary of a “Minsk-3” style agreement, especially as Europe moves forward with plans to amass up to 30,000 troops to send to Ukraine as soon as a ceasefire is in place—following Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s orders for Europe take on more responsibility for Kiev.

Former U.S. Diplomat and Geopolitical Analyst, Jim Jatras, noted that as appealing as an agreement may seem, Putin needs to remember that “No deal signed by anyone in Washington can be trusted EVER, at least for the foreseeable future,” and that for as long as a Ukrainian State exists, NATO will be trying to meddle in it.

The U.S. Intelligence Community has released its 2025 Annual Threat Assessment, and while it warns Russia is a major threat, it also admits Moscow “retains momentum as a grinding war of attrition plays to Russia’s military advantages,” and that this war “will lead to a gradual but steady erosion of Kiev’s position on the battlefield, regardless of any U.S. or allied attempts to impose new and greater costs on Moscow.”

International Relations and Security Analyst Mark Sleboda noted that while the Trump Admin is focused on trying to get Moscow locked into a peace deal that Kiev will never fulfill, and while Kiev is busy trying to launch an incursion into Russia’s Belgorod region (because they didn’t learn their lesson in Kursk), Russia is focused on the task at hand and planning for advances in the Donbass region, as the war continues on.

The Trump Admin was apparently planning for U.S. strikes on Yemen by exchanging messages and emojis in a group chat on the messaging app, Signal. At least that’s according to Jeffrey Goldberg, the Editor in Chief of The Atlantic and a former IDF prison guard.

But while the messages from Vice President JD Vance seemed to put the reason for the strikes on “bailing Europe out again,” the officials all appeared to ignore the main reason the U.S. would be bombing Yemen: for Israel.

The article exposing the messages and the fact that Goldberg was included in the chat was also published on the same day that Israel targeted and murdered two Palestinian journalists in Gaza.
