U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget A. Brink is preparing to step down from her post in the coming days, according to State Department, who confirmed her upcoming resignation in a statement, “Ambassador Brink is stepping down. She's been the ambassador there for three years – that's a long time in a war zone. And frankly, the war has gone on for far too long. The real issue is whether the Russians and Ukrainians are ready to do what's necessary to end this war.” Brink has been the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine throughout the Russian invasion, being appointed in 2022 by President Joe Biden; with her spending most of her time in Kyiv, away from her family, who is unable to accompany her due to Kyiv being labeled as a unaccompanied post by the State Department.
