In light of the media reports circulating about offers and meetings related to negotiations to cease hostilities in Gaza and exchange prisoners, I would like to clarify the following:

Up to this moment, and according to what I have learned and observed, Hamas has not been presented with any new proposal from Egypt, Qatar, or any other party regarding the path to calm or arrangements for a prisoner exchange deal.

As for the rumors about meetings or initiatives from Fatah, the reality is that no meeting has been held between the two movements to date, and there are no arrangements or specific dates for a meeting soon. However, Hamas is showing positive openness to any serious Palestinian-Palestinian dialogue that would unify ranks, strengthen the national position in confronting the aggression, and end the genocide being perpetrated against our people.

Regarding indirect negotiations with the occupation, Hamas has dealt seriously and responsibly with every serious proposal over the past months, and it will remain open to any realistic proposals that lead to a cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of the occupation, and an end to the war.

As I know about Hamas, its priority at this stage is clear and constant: halting the aggression, ending the massacres, saving our Palestinian people from the humanitarian catastrophe, then supporting their steadfastness, compensating them for the destruction and pain they have suffered, and restoring their dignity and lives.

A dramatic development is taking place beneath the surface, closer to Israel's borders. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is setting his sights on strategic objectives in Syria, seeking—and perhaps even being able to—expand Turkey's influence in the region, potentially posing a threat to Israel from NATO's second-largest army.

The key to this equation is military control, which is why the Turks are trying to establish military bases in Syria and control sites such as the famous T4 base.

Such control would give them an air presence, protection of the Turkish border, and effective control over swathes of Syrian territory, filling the vacuum left by the decline of the Assad regime and the withdrawal of Syria and Iran.

In a regional landscape based on power, these are extremely dangerous developments, and Israel cannot sit idly by.
