❗️ Former Ukrainian Commander-in-chief Zaluzhny confirmed that NATO has been involved in planning Ukrainian operations from the start:
"Last week, there was a lot of talk about Wiesbaden. This headquarters has truly become our secret weapon in collaboration with our partners for planning operations and defining the requirements for their implementation. I will give you some insight into how it was established.
After the onset of full-scale aggression, military assistance from our partners significantly increased—we received a variety of weapons and equipment, along with new challenges related to their delivery and repair.
That is why in April 2022, we created a center to coordinate the supply of military aid to Ukraine. It was based at the headquarters of U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany. After a while, this headquarters continued its work in Wiesbaden.
Eventually, we realized that we needed a joint operational headquarters with our partners to assess the requirements for weapons and equipment based on operational planning. This issue became particularly pressing in the summer of 2022, when our partners expressed doubts about the appropriateness of certain types of weapons and ammunition for the front in Ukraine.
It was then that we came up with the idea of creating an operational headquarters based on logistics, which would analyze the planned operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and, in accordance with NATO standards, define the needs for them. Thanks to the support of the United Kingdom, this idea was successfully realized, and Wiesbaden gained new significance. This headquarters planned operations, conducted military exercises, formulated needs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and communicated them to Washington and European capitals.
This platform has become an excellent mechanism for interaction with our partners regarding future military operations and the formulation of needs for them."
