HB1699 is headed BACK to the governor’s desk. Act NOW to urge him to VETO!
Democrats in the Virginia Legislature have rejected the Governor’s proposed amendments, so HB1699, which will unfairly yank tax exempt status from several of Virginia’s honorable historical societies, including the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Virginia Division Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the JEB Stuart Birthplace Preservation Trust is headed BACK to his desk . He vetoed similar legislation last year.
THE FINAL PUSH IS ON: Please contact Governor Youngkin TODAY and daily through the week/weekend. Thank him for his veto last year, and ask him to once again reject this vicious, partisan attack by democrats on our history, heritage, and first amendment rights, and VETO this bill!

The Virginia Flaggers’ Rt. 360 Charlotte County Defenders Roadside Memorial Battle Flag was moved to a new location earlier this month. Just a few miles west of the original location, we are thrilled with the GREATLY improved visibility and new 20 year lease that will keep her flying for years to come! Many thanks to our dedicated volunteers for their hard work, for the Charlotte County Grays SCV Camp for partnering with us on this project, and to each of YOU whose generous support makes these projects possible!

HIGH BRIDGE FLAG FIGHT UPDATE. COURT THIS THURSDAY! The criminal trial for our Farmville Rt. 460 High Bridge Memorial Flag site landowner is THIS THURSDAY, April 3rd, 1:00 pm, Prince Edward County Courthouse.
Prince Edward County officials have filed criminal charges claiming that changing out the flag due to wear and tear amounts to "erecting a new sign", which means that they think we should now have to comply with the ridiculous batch of new flag zoning laws they enacted as "emergency measures" after the memorial flag was raised and a few folks complained. They want us to replace the 20'x30' flag with one less than half its size, completely inappropriate for the pole height, and based on new laws enacted AFTER the flag was raised in accordance with all county requirements.
We will not comply.
This latest harassment comes after county leaders have spent hundred of thousands of taxpayer dollars in failed attempts to have the pole removed or the height lowered.

Flagging Gettysburg! We had a blast forwarding the colors on the hallowed grounds. This photo was taken shortly after this young man walked out with his Grandaddy across the field to follow the path their ancestor took in Pickett’s Charge. It’s our DUTY to teach the truth to the next generation. #FamilyFlagging

Take one Memorial down and we will build more ! We hope they love seeing it each day to remind all who pass of our rich heritage, history, culture, and the honor and valor of the brave men who fought under her. We are still here raising memorials over 160 years later… and we are not going anywhere !

True story from the Centennial of Lee's Surrender at Appomattox:
Robert E. Lee, IV was to be on hand for the surrender event. Shortly after leaving Richmond, and headed toward Appomattox, Lee was pulled over by a Virginia State Trooper. Addressing Mr. Lee, the trooper asked, "Are you Robert E. Lee, IV?"
"Yes sir, why, was I speeding?" responded Lee. "No, sir" answered the trooper.
The trooper then asked, "Are you headed to Appomattox for the surrender event?"
"Why, yes, I am. Why do you ask?"
"I just wanted to give you some advice."
"What's that?" inquired Lee.
"Whatever you do, don't sign anything."
And with that, the trooper saluted and returned to his cruiser.

TRUMP!!! The order -- called "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History" -- directed the vice president and the secretary of Interior to restore federal parks, monuments, memorials and statues "that have been improperly removed or changed in the last five years to perpetuate a false revision of history or improperly minimize or disparage certain historical figures or events."
