I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
—Ephesians 3: 17-19
Paul wants us to solidly connect with each other in love.
More than being able to understand all the unfathomable mysteries of the universe or the deep teachings of Scripture, knowing and sharing the love of Christ enables us to bring God's full blessing to others.
While knowledge can be good, love is greater still.
While power can be helpful, love is more helpful still.
While experience can teach us many things, love teaches us to use what we know to bless others.
Let's be a people who live with love for each other
Romans 5:5 says...
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us
And first Corinthians 1-13 says...
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in partf and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhoodh behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
O Father,
Pour your love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit and pour it out into the lives of those around us through us. Make us an instrument of your loving grace so that your love will be felt in clear and unmistakable ways by those our lifes impacts.
In Jesus' name, I pray.

"push out into the deep water and let your nets down for a catch."
Despite having worked hard all night and caught nothing, Simon agrees to do so at Jesus' command.
Jesus has just finished teaching a crowd from Simon Peter's boat.
Jesus tells Simon to take the boat out further into the lake and lower the nets.
Simon acknowledges that they've been unsuccessful all night.
He agrees to do it anyway because Jesus told him to.
This act of obedience leads to an incredibly large catch of fish, so much that their nets begin to break.

Almighty God,
We thank You for never forsaking us amidst the challenges and difficulties that cause storms in our lives. We pray that You enable us to trust in You and never stop in a storm, but always press on through it as we experience Your peace and guidance to victory.
