First the US agreed with Hamas to release the IDF soldier with double citizenship, Edan Alexander in exchange for lifting the siege on Gaza.
Edan was released, but Trump betrayed his promise. Israel continues to starve Gazans.
The US objective was to clear out this one US-Israeli citizen prior to letting Israel impose its violent endgame on Gaza. Mass slaughter and those who survive will be instilled with fear into accepting to move out.
Trump faked a disagreement with Netanyahu to "soften" the situation across Arab countries before visiting them and taking from them trillions of dollars.
After this, he again stated in an interview yesterday that he would not interfere with Netanyahu.
Meanwhile, the US has been pressing Libya to take 1 million Palestinians, who will be ethnically cleansed by Israel.
Why Libya? The US is using the country they destroyed in 2011, and which remains extremely weak and vulnerable to imperial pressure. For little money they are ready to accept anything.

Now the picture is much clearer as to why the US was feigning a "breakup" with Netanyahu. The goal was to reach an agreement with all the countries of the Middle East, in order to cement Israel's security while teasing the final blow of completely wiping the Palestinians off the face of the earth.
