We have a number of concerns about what the WHO is proposing under the 2024 amendments to the International Health Regulation 2005 (2024 IHRs). The most concerning can be summarised into 5 topics:
Choice – the right to make choices for you and your family
Censorship – the right to be able to speak freely and receive information
Surveillance – in the form of tracking and tracing
Control – countries will have to implement the changes into their domestic legislation
Cost – both financial and social
The Joint Standing Committee on Treaties (JSCT) is an Australian government committee that has asked for your feedback on the 2024 IHRs.

Time to honour and send a shout out to our egg suppliers!
Egg producers (the hens and the humans😞) have been under attack by those who seek to control our food systems. Eggs are nutrient dense and easy to produce (large amounts of land and extensive animal husbandry knowledge not required), and until recently most people knew someone who had hens (or chooks) in their back yard or on the farm. Unfortunately just the mention of another “flu” has been enough to see the demise of millions of hens in this country.
This is yet another good reason to support our independent farmers and producers. And choosing to buy from producers who allow their animals to live outside and eat from pastures as nature intended aligns with ACA’s belief in informed choices for a healthier, more ethical future.

We know that one of the key requirements of the 2024 International Health Regulations (IHRs) is Censorship, and for member nations to comply, they must legislate.
The IHRs are a big deal.
This week we saw the Criminal Code Amendment (Hate Crimes) Bill 2024 get pushed through both Houses of Parliament in a matter of days. The Senators in the pic above are the ONLY Senators who tried to stop it.
George Christensen writes;
Senator Gerard Rennick condemned the bill as “a direct attack on free speech,” warning that it “threatens freedom of speech by allowing the government to censor or punish individuals for expressing opinions that might be deemed offensive.” He pointed out that such laws are always applied selectively, noting, “Instead of combating hate, these laws can be weaponised to silence dissent and suppress unpopular viewpoints….”

After a small hiatus we’re back…and what better conversation to kick the year off with than “what can I do?”
A fabulous article by World Council for Health Australia reminds us that everybody can play a part in bringing positive change to our country.
Recently, members of the World Council for Health (WCH UK) embarked on a mission to break free from the echo chambers that so often define our lives. Setting out to engage with people directly—communities where people may not be aware of the issues affecting their health or their rights - WCH UK visited festivals, town centers, and local gatherings, meeting people from all walks of life who were eager to hear our message.

Fun fact; cows are ruminants. They are herbivores with 4 stomach compartments that 1) slowly ferment grass in their first stomach which makes the nutrients bio available before 2) digesting the grass in their other stomachs. There’s more to it, but you get the picture.
Further fun facts;
1) ruminant animals (cows, sheep, goats) that eat grass produce less methane and CO2 than grain fed ruminants
2) grain eating ruminants not only produce more methane and CO2, they also produce it more quickly than grass fed animals.
Moral of the story, leave the cows on grass, and they’d fart less.
But that’d hurt the pockets of Blackrock and Vanguard, and the WHO would have less ammunition against farmers.
Anyhoo, back to the excellent World Council for Health Substack, and happy reading👇🏼
