1. The mask of Teres I, first king of the Odrysian state

Life sized mask, possibly belonging to King Teres I (Unknown–445 BC), unearthed in a mound at the Valley of the Thracian kings, Kazanlak region, Central Bulgaria. The mask is made of 23.5 carat gold and weighs 672 g.

2. A ring depicting an Olympic athlete was found in the same grave.

Teres, who united the 40 or more Thracian tribes under one banner, was well known for his military abilities and spent much of his life on the battlefield. He died during a military campaign in 445 BC.

ALBANO AND ALBANOPOLIS IN ANCIENT INSCRIPTIONS

In the ancient town of Stobi near the town of Gradsko (Veles) Vardar, was found the inscription of the patronymic Albano , and the other previous inscription in Gorno Sonje of Scupi , where we find for the first time the toponym Albanopoli (Illyrian city in Albania ) in North Macedonia.



The name Mikatus is conisdered an Illyrian name. It appears in the inscription of the village Middle Konjare
Shkup (Dragojevic-Josifovska 1982: 133).

In another grave of IV century AD found in Stobi Southeast Shkup today capital of North Macedonia , is found the name Albanos. see: (Spasovska-Dimitriovska 1993-1995:123-135)
