Hamas Discusses Gaza Negotiations in Ankara
A senior Hamas delegation met today in Ankara with Turkish intelligence chief İbrahim Kalın to discuss the ongoing ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.
Led by Political Council head Mohammed Darwish, the delegation reiterated its willingness to “immediately reach a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal in return for halting the war, withdrawing from the Strip, initiating reconstruction, and lifting the blockade.” The group also endorsed Egypt’s proposal to establish a special committee for administering Gaza, composed of independents and professional national figures.
Kalın outlined Turkey’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire and ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing Ankara’s role in delivering aid and coordinating international efforts. He also reaffirmed Turkey’s opposition to Israel’s expansionist and occupation policies, and to any new acts of annexation.
