how can you not fucking tell a person you prescribed them a medication to be taken daily that should improve their lung function by THIRTY. PERCENT.

not 'a little bit'. not 'taken if needed' even.
a thing that could help me breathe 30% better and not choke on air and not hack my lungs out, i haven’t been taking, because they didn’t tell me it was an option.

i cannot be TOO upset because at least i’m GETTING appointments and i’m GETTING prescriptions and shit, but i am under no illusion that’s because i’m lucky, i know i am only given this 'courtesy' cause i’m a powder keg of chronic conditions that’s a step away from psychiatric watch. and even THEN they cannot fucking WRITE ME A MESSAGE, like HELLO, hEADS UP, WE CONFIRMED A DIAGNOSIS.

i cannot emphasise enough that despite the amount of asthma references i make daily, that was a secret the spirometry tech told me looking at my tests. it was never told to me in any kind of official capacity, he could be WRONG.

he nudged me to use an inhaler i got for the TEST because it would be better than nothing, but if he didn’t i would just throw it away as instructed. so my main management for months was an acute inhaler i didn’t even get prescribed for acute reasons. as far as the clinic knows, i am not managing my asthma at all. at 70% lung function which is like, levels where everyday life is affected noticeably.

imagine my surprise about a week back when i wanted to check something in my records and saw a backdated diagnosis for asthma that i was never notified about. i was like, i will call them soon after it’s safe for me to schedule a blood test they want (cause i took antibiotics right) and ask then what the fuck they think that is.

i go on the nhs app to double check my appointment time for tomorrow. cause when i had the neuralgia flare back in NOVEMBER, MARCH was the closest neurology consult they could manage. okay.

i think, i should restock on my antidepressants. let me go to my REGULARLY PRESCRIBED MEDICINE TAB.

it says TWO MEDICINES.

i am not on two rolling prescriptions.

…that i am aware of.

they fucking prescribed me a proper inhaler without notifying me of it. moreover, they didn’t notify me i needed one, because they didn’t notify me i got diagnosed.

i am going to break a window at that fucking hospital tomorrow i swear to god.
