The Supreme Court late last night issued what appears to be a full-court administrative stay (a temporary pause that doesn’t reflect how the court may rule on the application itself) on the Trump administration from carrying out the deportations. NEW: Supreme Court orders additional briefs in the Kennedy v Braidwood Management Inc, following arguments held on Monday in the case. While rare, there are other times that the Supreme Court has ordered post-argument briefs. A general explanation for the matter is new developments in the case, from the time of the argument, that prompts additional information to be provided from both parties to the justices.
