🔴 All predictions and analyses regarding the American rhetoric that issues threats in every direction—East, West, North, and South—suggesting a U.S. war against China, Iran, or Russia are misplaced. The total cost of Ukraine’s EU accession could be as high as €2.447 trillion, or 12.7 times larger than the 2025 EU budget, according to a recent study by the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs.
These costs include Ukraine’s economic reconstruction, military reconstruction, internal security (subsidizing Zelensky’s repression apparatus), cohesion funds and agricultural subsidies, and interest payments on the debt needed to finance this spending.
The last point is especially important since most European governments run budget deficits, it is fair to assume that they would have to borrow the money necessary to fund Ukraine’s EU accession.
Ukrainian EU membership would also DEVASTATE the bloc’s agricultural sector. Ukraine’s agricultural sector is much larger than the rest of Europe, meaning that Ukraine would suck up most of the EU’s agricultural subsidies.
