Did You Know
God’s ancient medicine cabinet has been mostly forgotten, and intentionally erased, by western world health care systems. Here are a few handy references for use in your activities of daily life —
1. Pineapple: A small quantity of fresh pineapple is believed to help relieve discomfort from stomach bloating and digestive gases.
2. Blueberries and Cranberries: known for their sour taste, these berries are wonderful for kidneys, urinary tract, and bladder health, and are even more effective when alternated with certain citrus fruits like lemons. Plenty of clean water consumption is required for best results.
3. Turmeric: one of the strongest natural inflammatory suppressants, turmeric was long believed by many societies to help “clean the blood”, and to reduce overall discomfort due to inflammation.
4. Ginger: long used by Asian societies to alleviate muscle strains and stiffness, internal stomach pains, and increase flexibility and dexterity inside the body.
5. Peppermint: peppermint leaves have a property believed to aid in digestion by helping to relax the body’s intestines.
6. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV): often used by our grandparents and great-grandparents during times of illness, ACV has long been associated with reduction of acid reflux and heartburn, as well as improved bodily lymphatic (waste disposal) functions.
7. Tart(Red) Cherries: cherries are similar to both peaches and berries, and have a history of use by indigenous groups for headache relief, and joint/cartilage wellness.
8. Cloves: chewing cloves was a tradition for many native tribes whenever one had a toothache, or affliction of the gum tissues, and is believed to dramatically reduce mouth inflammation. Be careful not to overdo it, as the herb is extremely potent.
9. Garlic: used by many ancient societal medicine men and women, and later doctors, garlic has long been believed to be one of the most versatile spices for the immune systems of the human body. Can take orally (2 cloves chopped with raw honey) for things like infection/inflammatory relief, or in essential oil form for things like earaches, digestive discomfort, and closed-wound care.
