Hi everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well. I don’t usually like making this kind of announcement in public, as I prefer to keep this channel focused on sharing my work—and I don’t want to present myself as a victim or someone to be pitied—but the seriousness of my situation and everything I’ve been going through these days feels important enough to share. I also believe that speaking about it openly might help me face it more positively.
Two days ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called systemic sclerosis. It’s a chronic condition that mainly affects the skin, causing it to become thick and tight, and it also impacts circulation. This happens because the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own healthy tissues. In more advanced stages or severe cases, it can also affect internal organs—commonly the lungs.
For now, it’s causing me some mobility issues, especially in my joints and hands (I can barely go outside without gloves, even in the summer, because the disease makes me very sensitive to temperature changes).
I’m still waiting to find out the extent of the damage the disease may have caused so far. One positive thing is that it has been detected at an early stage, which gives me a lot of room to start taking care of my health and try to minimize the harm it might cause.
But emotionally, this whole situation has been a shock. It’s forcing me to rethink my life and my future. I’m very scared, and I don’t know what lies ahead—I only know that there are still so many things I want to do, and I’ll do everything within my power to fight this.
