This individual, sitting alongside the M16-Israeli agent Sadiq Shirazi, is named Luqman Gara.

On December 25-26, during protests in Syria, he delivered a speech in which he threatened the newly formed regime there, warning of decapitations if any sectarian attacks occurred. Following this, the current regime in Syria launched assaults on Shias and Alawites, subjecting many to torture, beheading several, and even attacking the shrine of Hazrat Mohsin Ibn Imam Hussain (a.s).

The sole purpose of raising figures like Sadiq Shirazi and his accomplices is to incite sectarian violence, which is then used as a pretext for spilling the blood of Shias. Similar tactics were employed in the past to justify attacks on the shrine of Bibi Zainab (s.a) in Syria.

These individuals are agents of discord, working for the enemies of Islam, and cannot be regarded as Shias.

Hazrat Mohsin (a.s) was a son of Imam Hussain (a.s), martyred while still in his mother's womb after the tragedy of Karbala. Following the events of Karbala, when the captives were being taken to the court of Yazid (1.a), Hazrat Mohsin was martyred during the journey. Much like Hazrat Mohsin Ibn Ali (as), who was also martyred in the womb, his name became associated with this tragedy.

His shrine is located near Aleppo.

• The Islamic Republic Has Never Been Passive in Any Problem Throughout the Revolution:

• The resistance front should neither become proud of victories, nor should it become despairing of defeats. Victory and defeat exist, and human life is the same. There are successes and failures in it. The same applies to groups; there are successes and failures in it.

• A movement might be in power one day and out of power the next; the same applies to governments and countries. Life has ups and downs, and one cannot avoid them. What is needed is that when we are on the rise, we should not become arrogant because arrogance brings ignorance. Arrogance makes a person oblivious, and when we face a downfall or failure, we should not become depressed, hopeless, or broken.

• The Islamic Republic has faced significant and difficult events over these forty-plus years. Young people today did not witness those days. In Tehran, while people were sitting at home, Soviet-made MiG-25 jets belonging to Saddam would fly over us here. If they had shown restraint, they would not have bombed, but they used it to intimidate, and we were powerless to do anything. We didn’t have the defense systems or the resources to counter them.

• The Islamic Republic has faced various tough and bitter events, but at no point has it been passive. Passivity should not come from a believer. Sometimes, passivity is more dangerous than the event itself. Passivity means that a person feels that nothing can be done, so they surrender. That is passivity. Therefore, in times of success and progress, arrogance is poison, and in times of failure and difficulties, passivity is poison.

• There are some who aim to empty the hearts of the people. This must not happen.

• Some of them do this from abroad, such as foreign TV stations, radio channels, and newspapers in Persian, painting a picture of events that frightens the people and empties their hearts. This is managed differently and must be dealt with accordingly. However, inside the country, no one should engage in this.

• If anyone, in their analysis or statements, speaks in a way that empties the hearts of the people, it is a crime. It must be pursued.

This pipeline was cut off, causing a global uproar.They didn’t allow oil meant for Saddam to flow.

• The Syrian government itself benefited from this oil transit and received money from it. They gave it up, though, and in return, they got something from us. The Islamic Republic did not leave this service unrewarded. They helped us first.

• In Syria, Martyr Soleimani trained, armed, organized, and prepared a group of thousands of local youth. They stood firm.

• However, unfortunately, later some of the military officials of that country created problems and gave up on what was in their own best interest. After the fitnah of ISIS was extinguished, some of the forces returned, while others remained there.

• They were present and involved, but as I mentioned, the main battle had to be fought by the army of that country. It is alongside the army of that country that the volunteer forces from elsewhere can fight. If the army of that country shows weakness, the volunteer forces cannot do much, and unfortunately, this happened.

• When the spirit of resistance and steadfastness weakens, this is the outcome. This is the disaster that Syria is facing today, and only God knows how long it will continue. Until the youth of Syria, God willing, rise up and stop it, this is the result of the weaknesses shown there.

• The senior officials of the armed forces and militant organizations write to me saying that in the case of Lebanon, in the case of Hezbollah, we cannot bear it any longer, please allow us to go.

• Compare this with the army that cannot bear it and flees. Unfortunately, during the reign of the Pahlavi regime, our army was like this. They also did not stand against the foreign enemies in various wars, including World War II. The enemy came to the very gates of Tehran. They did not stand their ground. When you don’t resist, this is the result. One must resist.

• In the difficult conditions we were in, we were still ready. I was told that all the necessary supplies for the Syrians had been prepared, and we were ready to go. The skies were closed, the land routes were closed, and both the Israeli regime and the U.S. blocked Syria’s skies and land routes. It was impossible. This is the situation. If the motivation within that country had remained and they could have spoken up against the enemy, the enemy would not have been able to block their skies or their land routes. Help could have been provided.

• The Youth of Syria Will Rise and Prevail, Just Like the Youth of Iraq Who Expelled the Americans:

• Everyone should know that things will not remain this way. The situation where a group comes to Damascus and other places to celebrate, dance, and invade people’s homes, while the Zionist regime bombs and brings in tanks and artillery, will not persist. The youth of Syria will certainly rise, stand firm, make sacrifices, suffer casualties, but they will overcome this situation, just as the brave youth of Iraq did.

• The courageous youth of Iraq, with the help, leadership, and organization of our dear martyr, were able to drive the enemy out of the streets and homes. Otherwise, the Americans would have been doing the same things in Iraq as they are doing in Syria.

• We Had Warned Syrian Officials Months Before;...

• The Syrian incident has a lesson for each and every one of us, and for our officials as well. They must learn from it. One of the lessons is negligence, negligence toward the enemy. Yes, the enemy acted swiftly in this incident, but they should have known beforehand that the enemy would act quickly.

• We had also assisted them. Our intelligence services had sent warning reports to the Syrian officials months before the incident.

• We must not be unaware of the enemy. We should not underestimate the enemy. We should not trust the enemy’s smile; sometimes the enemy speaks with a pleasant tone, smiles, but behind their back is a dagger, waiting for the right moment.

• Our military presence in Syria and Iraq was not about sending our armies to replace the army of these countries. What our forces could do, and did, was advisory work. What does advisory mean? It means forming important central headquarters, setting strategies, determining tactics, and, when necessary, entering the battlefield. But most importantly, it was about mobilizing the youth of the region, though our own youths, our Basij, were eager and determined. Many of them went as well.

• When people see the brutal crimes of the enemy, those who had doubts about whether they should resist or not will come out of their hesitation and realize that the only way to continue is by standing firm against the oppressor and the arrogant. One must stand and resist. That is what resistance means.

• Look at Hezbollah in Lebanon and see, was the catastrophe that befell Hezbollah a trivial matter? Losing someone like Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah was no small thing. Hezbollah’s attacks, its strength, and Hezbollah’s strong response after this became even greater than before. The enemy understood this and accepted it.

• They thought that after delivering a blow, they could invade Lebanese territory, push Hezbollah back to certain points, like the Litani River, but they couldn’t do it. Hezbollah stood firm with full power and made them come to the table and request a ceasefire. This is resistance.

• The imperialist forces are pleased after the events in Syria, thinking that with the fall of the Syrian government, which supported resistance, the resistance front has weakened.

• They are greatly mistaken; those who think that the resistance front has weakened due to these events do not have a correct understanding of resistance and the resistance front. They do not know what the resistance front truly means.

• The resistance front is not a hardware that can break, collapse, or be destroyed. Resistance is faith, it is an ideology, it is a heartfelt and decisive decision, and it is a school of thought—a school of belief. Something that is the faith of a people cannot be weakened by pressure. On the contrary, it grows stronger.

• The motivation of the members of the resistance front and its elements grows stronger upon seeing the enemy’s wickedness, and the scope of the resistance front expands.

• Look at Gaza. For more than a year, Gaza has been under bombardment. Prominent figures from Gaza, such as Yahya Sinwar, were martyred. Despite these blows, the people stood firm. The enemy thought they could pressure the people to turn against Hamas and rise up. But the opposite happened—people became even more supportive of Hamas.

• This is resistance. This is the resistance front. The more pressure you apply, the stronger it becomes. The more atrocities you commit, the more motivated they become. The more you fight them, the broader the resistance grows. And I tell you, with God’s grace, the scope of the resistance will spread across the entire region, even more than before.

• That ignorant analyst who is unaware of the meaning of resistance thinks that if the resistance weakens, the Islamic Iran will also weaken. But I say, by God’s grace, with God’s will, Iran is strong and will become even stronger.

• A question arises here. Given the description we’ve made about the issues in Syria, were we present in Syria over these past years or not? Well, everyone knows the answer is yes. The martyrs of the shrine, the martyrs who defended the shrine, indicate that we were present.

• We helped the Syrian government, but before we helped the Syrian government, at a crucial point, the Syrian government provided a vital help to us. This is something most people are unaware of.

• In the midst of the Sacred Defense, when everyone was working for Saddam and against us, the Syrian government took a decisive step in our favor against Saddam. They cut the oil pipeline that carried oil from there to the Mediterranean and to Europe, with the money going into Saddam’s pockets.

[As Much As Parts We Could Collect]

• There should be no doubt that what happened in Syria is the result of a joint U.S.-Zionist plot. Yes, a neighboring country of Syria has played a clear role in this, and it still does—this is evident to all. However, the main conspirators, the architects of the plan, and the command rooms are in the U.S. and the Zionist regime. We have clear evidence. These signs leave no room for doubt.

• “Resistance is this: the more pressure you apply, the stronger it becomes; the more atrocities you commit, the more motivated it becomes. The more you fight them, the more it expands. And I tell you, by the divine power of Allah, the scope of resistance will expand across the entire region more than ever before.”

• “The ignorant analyst who is unaware of the meaning of resistance thinks that if resistance weakens, Islamic Iran will also weaken. But I tell you, by the divine power of Allah, with Allah's permission, Iran is strong and powerful and will become even stronger.”

• “Syrian youth will rise against the invaders.”

• The "invaders", I mentioned, each have their own objectives. Their goals differ: Some are trying to seize territory in northern or southern Syria, while the U.S. seeks to strengthen its foothold in the region.

These are their goals, but time will show that, God willing, none of them will achieve these objectives. The occupied areas of Syria will be liberated by the brave Syrian youth; rest assured, this will happen. The U.S. foothold will not remain firm either. By the grace of God, and with divine power, the U.S. will also be expelled from the region by the Resistance Front.

• Our security agencies had informed Bashar about this matter since September. This current group [Tahrir+] will not last long. Syrian youth will rise up. When the country’s own army is not taking a stand, entering the situation becomes both meaningless and unacceptable to public opinion.

• In the case of the ISIS fitna (sedition), ISIS means the bomb of insecurity. ISIS aimed to destabilize Iraq, destabilize Syria, destabilize the region, and ultimately reach the main point and final goal: to destabilize the Islamic Republic of Iran. This was the main and final objective. This is the meaning of ISIS.

• We became present there for two reasons; one reason was to protect the sanctity of the holy shrines. Because they, far from spirituality and away from faith and religion, were hostile towards the holy shrines, intending to destroy them, and they did destroy them. In Samarra, for example, with the help of the Americans, they destroyed the holy dome of Samarra*. They also intended to do the same in Najaf, Karbala, Kazimain, and Damascus. This was ISIS’s goal. Naturally, the faithful, zealous, and devout lovers of Ahl al-Bayt would never tolerate such things. They would never allow it. This is one reason.

The other reason was security. The officials quickly realized that if this insecurity wasn’t stopped in these areas, it would spread and eventually engulf the entire country, bringing insecurity to our vast nation. The insecurity caused by ISIS was not something ordinary.

• Imam Ali said, “A nation that fights the enemy in its own home becomes humiliated; don’t let it reach your home.” Hence, our forces went, our distinguished commanders went, our dear martyr General Soleimani and his companions went, and they organized and armed the youths both in Iraq and Syria. First in Iraq, then in Syria, they organized, armed, and stood up against ISIS, breaking ISIS’s backbone and eventually achieving victory.
