MORRISTOWN, Tenn. - Six people were charged over the weekend after a human sex trafficking bust in Morristown, according to court documents obtained by WVLT News.
The bust happened at a hotel on Saturday. Court records show the following six people were taken into custody and charged after agents went under cover, posing as minors who were trying to sell sex: Osdan Gonzalez Ardon; John Linek; Bryan Guzman; Pablo Hernandez Gutierrez; Marvin Antonio Lima Melendez; Colton Bryant.

Today, Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced the completion of Operation 806, an operation conducted in Southaven, Mississippi led by her Human Trafficking Task Force. The operation resulted in one arrest and the recovery of five human trafficking victims.
During Operation 806, which was conducted on May 1, 2025, Mississippi Attorney General’s Office investigators and prosecutors worked with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to serve two search warrants, make the arrest, and recover the victims.

▫️Multiple Victims Rescued After Man Arrested for Human Trafficking
TAMPA - An undercover operation by Hillsborough County Deputies has led to the arrest of a man accused of forcing women to engage in sexual acts for drugs.
Two women told investigators that Deune Dukes, 38, had used physical violence and drugs to control them. Detectives say both women had signs of bruising. A third female victim was also identified along with another woman who Dukes was allegedly grooming, but had not tried to perform any sexual acts yet, according to detectives. The non-profit organization Selah Freedom is helping the victims recover.

▫️Officers find missing girl, arrest human trafficking suspect in Los Angeles
A 23-year-old man from Hawthorne has been arrested and charged with human trafficking after he was found with a 17-year-old girl who was reported missing from Orange County in April.
Police said that the unidentified girl was reported missing from her home in Irvine and that she was "possibly being exploited for purposes of commercialized sex," the OCHTTF statement said.
They found her the next day with Alex Polidore, the 23-year-old Hawthorne man, in Los Angeles. He was arrested and booked into the Anaheim Police Department's Detention Facility for a parole violation and several human-trafficking-related offenses. On Thursday, Polidore was charged with human trafficking of a minor by the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

More than 500 students of Ifedapo Community Comprehensive High School, Abalabi, Ogun State, have been sensitised on the dangers of human trafficking in an awareness campaign led by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Mrs. Bosede Jimoh, Ogun State Commander of NAPTIP, revealed this on Sunday in Abeokuta, where she highlighted the importance of early education in shielding young people from falling prey to traffickers. “Young people are often the prime targets of traffickers, and without early intervention, they are left vulnerable,” Jimoh stated.

Miyazaki Prefectural Police have arrested 45-year-old Takuya Iwai on suspicion of kidnapping a minor he met on a social networking site.
Police said Iwai lured the teen out of Miyazaki Prefecture around midnight on Saturday and took her to his residence in Kagawa Prefecture. She was not injured.

A 43-year-old man from Edinet district will be tried for human trafficking and attempted fraud. He is accused of exploiting and deceiving 16 people by taking advantage of their financial vulnerability. The Edinet Prosecutor’s Office announced that it completed the criminal investigation and sent the case to court, IPN reports.
According to investigators, starting in February 2018, the man had recruited people from a locality situated in the north of the country, promising them sums of up to €500 for going to France and declaring themselves refugees. Under the pretext that they would receive social benefits from the French authorities, the victims accepted the offer without knowing that the defendant was seeking to obtain up to €10,000 from the social benefits intended for them.

The trial of nine youths accused of falsely alleging sodomy against city pastor Robert Kayanja took a dramatic turn on Monday as Mwanga II Magistrates’ Court ordered the arrest of three sureties and heard an emotional testimony from one of the accused.
Grade One Magistrate Adams Byarugaba issued arrest warrants for Tracy Namugga, Patrick Ayebare, and Abdul Kayondo, the sureties for Moses Tumwine, who remains on the run after missing multiple court appearances. “Despite efforts by police, Tumwine remains untraceable, and his sureties have failed in their legal obligation to produce him in court,” said Magistrate Byarugaba, adding that the trial would proceed in Tumwine’s absence.

Kevin Wyeth, 39, used an account on a mobile phone to bully the girls, including making threats to locate them and rape them. Wyeth caused the girls to engage in sexual activity in group chat messages. Officers located him at a flat in Eastbourne, where a mobile phone was seized and examined. Wyeth preyed on the fears of four victims to obtain indecent images and videos, which he stored on a mobile device. The girls, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, have been provided with support from specially-trained officers.

A man who claims he was abused at a private boarding school has reached an out-of-court settlement for a six-figure sum in damages.
Angus Bell claimed he suffered in a “madhouse of violence and psychological abuse” at Loretto School in Musselburgh, East Lothian in the 1990s. A civil trial, thought to be the first in Scotland involving pupil-on-pupil abuse, had been due to take place at the Court of Session in Edinburgh in early June. However, Digby Brown Solicitors, representing Mr Bell, said an out of court settlement for a six-figure sum has now been reached.
Speaking after the settlement was reached, Mr Bell, who has waived his right to anonymity, said: “I entered Loretto as a tiny, defenceless, 10-year-old boy. “I endured eight years of abuse, 34 years of post traumatic stress disorder, four and a half years of legal battle and, in the end, that little boy beat the system.”
