The warning signs are real:

📉 Trump’s sweeping new tariffs

📉 Retaliation from China, the EU, UK, and Canada

📉 Global markets in freefall — over $10 trillion wiped out

📉 Oil dropping. Bitcoin slipping. Gold surging.

We’ve seen this story before.

In 1930, a similar move — the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act — deepened the Great Depression and collapsed global trade.

On this day in 2020, the UK Coronavirus Act came into force.

A 300+ page emergency act, rushed through Parliament in a single day, granting the UK government sweeping powers that reshaped our society overnight.

Under the guise of public health, this Act:

- Enabled mass detentions, including of "potentially infectious" individuals.

- Allowed cancellation of elections.

- Gave powers to close schools, borders, and businesses without Parliamentary approval.

- Suspended long-standing protections in mental health, social care, and community services.

- Paved the way for coercive medical interventions and the suppression of dissent.

All in the name of protecting public health—but at what cost?

This was the moment when the balance tipped—from representative democracy to government overreach, from civil liberties to state surveillance, from informed consent to coerced compliance.

Let us never forget how quickly checks and balances were thrown out.

Five years ago today, they locked us down.

"Saving the Planet" One Deforested Mile at a Time

Nothing says “save the planet” like chopping down over 8 miles and tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest to build a four-lane highway for the upcoming COP30 climate summit in Belém, Brazil.

Yes, you read that right—a global conference dedicated to stopping deforestation and combating climate change is directly contributing to both.

✔️ Tens of thousands of acres of rainforest destroyed—one of the most vital carbon sinks on the planet.

✔️ Rich biodiversity under threat—habitat loss, disrupted migration patterns, and species at risk.

✔️ More concrete, more emissions—because nothing fights climate change like paving over one of the most ecologically sensitive regions on Earth.

All in the name of hosting a summit where leaders will lecture the rest of the world about "sustainability."

You couldn't make this up.

This is the environmental equivalent of flying private jets to a conference on reducing carbon footprints.

If the goal was actual conservation, why not host the event in an existing city, use existing infrastructure, or—better yet—go fully virtual?

It seems the climate cartel is less about saving the planet and more about consolidating profits and power while destroying the very ecosystems they claim to protect.

So here’s a middle finger to COP and a giant hug for the environment.

It’s time to abandon the climate cartel and start supporting regenerative organisations that are truly focused on protecting the environment—rather than exploiting it.
