CAU Dental School Student Published Research in an International Journal! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce the publication of a new research paper written by second-year dental student Narzullaeva Amina Olimovna, guided by Professor Dr. Riddhi Chawla, titled "Advanced Imaging Techniques in Dental Microstructure Analysis: A Meta-Analysis of Three-Dimensional Electron Microscopy Applications", published in the South Eastern European Journal of Public Health by Jacobs Verlag Publishers, Germany.

This meta-analysis evaluates the effectiveness of 3D-EM in visualizing dental tissues, including enamel, dentin, cementum, and pulp. Comparative studies reveal that 3D-EM surpasses traditional imaging in identifying mineral density gradients and tissue responses to mechanical stress, making it invaluable for dental material development and tissue engineering applications. These findings highlight 3D-EM’s role in advancing both clinical and research applications in dentistry, offering critical insights for innovations in preventive, restorative, and regenerative dental therapies.

Recently, the Central Asian University team successfully completed the QUARTZ Project training at the University of L’Aquila, Italy! 🇮🇹🎓

Over five intensive days, CAU participants deepened their knowledge of European Quality Assurance (QA) practices, focusing on:

✅ Enhancing teaching quality and student services
✅ Boosting research and third mission quality

Designed and led by internationally recognized faculty, these programs combine rigorous surgical training with real-world clinical experience from the very first day.

Under the leadership of 🇳🇱 Prof. Dr. Martain Loonen, MD, PhD, FCC(Plast) — a surgeon with over 18 years of international experience across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia — residents gain in-depth knowledge in core surgical disciplines, microsurgery, 3D planning, and robotic-assisted procedures, preparing them to become confident, independent surgeons.

These 4-year programs provide full clinical integration at AKFA Medline University Hospital, a 1:1 mentorship model, and progressive surgical responsibility. Residents gain hands-on experience, attend international observerships in top clinics, and for plastic surgery — a 6-month elective abroad.
