MAKE EUROPE ANTIFA AGAIN
🇬🇧ENGLISH VERSION
In recent years we are witnessing a new wave of right-wingers throughout the Western world, most notably the government in Italy of Giorgia Meloni, Orban's Hungary, the rise of the Afd in Germany and the re-election of Donald Trump. The populist right has the richest men in the world, such as Elon Musk, as its best allies. This is evidence of an ongoing violent class struggle. This conjuncture fuels the current winds of war, as it has always been a mechanism for capital to restructure, to expand and find new territories to conquer, new resources to prey on, new lives to consume. Capitalism, far-right populism and war propaganda also involve the idea of returning the nation to a golden age. To do this, there is no room for deviations, quirks, contingencies, be they individuals or behaviour, and so, with Trump's inauguration, a major operation to repatriate ‘illegal immigrants’ began immediately. A clear attack on all people on the margins, who are not white, normed and rich. In Europe, Musk initiated MEGA, Make Europe Great Again. Europe has never shied away from military and capitalist dynamics; in some states such as Austria and Germany, the Remigration discourse has taken hold, while in Italy, a Remigration summit has been launched for 17 May in Milan or the surrounding area.
Milan is not a desert. We stand here; the realities that every day, each in their own way, build resilient and supportive communities in which we experience a different way of living and weave egalitarian relationships.
It is clear to us that our neighbourhoods, peripheric, marginal and migrant, are the exact opposite of this political direction.
Faced with a global scenario of war, rearmament, the genocide in Palestine, we, comrades who instead live and animate the suburbs and city streets, assume (or try to assume, being aware that it is a path of deconstruction that is not immediate and never concluded) a decolonial, anti-racist, anti-fascist, anti-imperialist and transfeminist posture.
Against their world, we build resistant communities.
It is not easy, but it is necessary.
