Watch: A thick plume of smoke could be seen across parts of Flagstaff, Arizona Thursday morning after a train engine caught fire near the Fimbrez Estates on the city’s west side, according to officials.
The Flagstaff Fire Department says the incident happened on May 15 when an engine reportedly overheated and ignited. Fortunately, the train’s onboard fire suppression system activated quickly and had the blaze under control by the time firefighters arrived on scene.
