Thank you Sean Hannity for letting me set the record straight. Bottom line, the more than 25% of people who have severe autism will never go on a date, write a poem, live independently, or have a job. We need to identify the exposures that are causing this epidemic and compensate the families of the injured. HHSgov under my leadership, will be unrelenting in assisting affected individuals in living up to all their potentials.
President Trump has tasked me with identifying the root causes of the childhood chronic disease epidemic -- including autism. At Wednesday’s press conference, I shared new data from CDCgov Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network survey. Autism prevalence in the U.S. has increased from 1 in 36 children to 1 in 31. We will find the root cause of this epidemic and Make America Healthy Again.
Thank you to the Arizona legislatures who passed two MAHA bills – one to remove soda from SNAP and the other to get ultra-processed foods out of school lunches. Gov. Hobbs signed the food bill Wednesday but vetoed the SNAP bill. I urge all governors to support MAHA legislation to Make America Healthy Again.
We're going to announce a series of new studies to identify precisely what the environment toxins are that are causing [autism]. This has not been done before and we're going to do it in a thorough and comprehensive way.
The [autism] epidemic is real. Only a very small percentage of it can be charged to better recognition or better diagnostic criteria... This is catastrophic for our country... We're going to find the answer.
I want to empower each and every FDA employee to not see themselves as bureaucrats, but as leaders in an inspired and engaged workforce whose goal is to improve the health of this nation, particularly for our children.
Thank you Lee Zeldin for joining me in Utah Monday. Utah has now become the first state in the nation to officially ban fluoride. I also celebrated other MAHA legislation in Arizona including removing harmful chemicals from school lunches and eliminating sugary sodas from SNAP waivers.
I look forward to inviting every Governor who passes MAHA legislation to come celebrate with me at the White House this fall.
Fluoride should not be in our water...There is zero systematic advantage... The evidence against fluoride is overwhelming. We know that in animal and human models it causes IQ loss. It affects other neurological injuries like ADHD. It affects kidney health. It affects liver health. It causes hyperthyroidism. It makes no sense to have it in our water supply. And I'm very very proud of this state (Utah) for being the first state to ban it and I hope many more will come.
LEFT (today): NYT says Secretary Kennedy wants to "ban fluoride in drinking water" and "reverse ... one of the most important public health practices in the country's history."
No mention of their own January report (RIGHT) that fluoride may be linked to lower IQ scores in children."
Today, on #WorldDownSyndromeDay, we celebrate the incredible children and adults with Down syndrome and the families who love and support them. Every life is precious, full of promise, and worthy of protection. HHS is committed to supporting these families and ensuring easy access to the care and resources they deserve.
I commend and honor Governor Patrick Morrisey for being the first in the nation to apply for a SNAP waiver to get sodas and other sugar drinks off of food stamps.
I want to empower each and every FDA employee to not see themselves as bureaucrats, but as leaders in an inspired and engaged workforce whose goal is to improve the health of this nation, particularly for our children.
Welcome Commissioner Dr. Martin Makary and Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya. Let’s restore HHSgov health agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science to tackle the chronic disease epidemic and Make America Healthy Again. The revolution begins today!
We cannot have a strong country if we have sick citizens... A person who is healthy has a thousand dreams. A person who is sick only has one -- To get better. We need to give them a pathway to doing that and the pathway is through food.
Today, on #WorldAutismAwarenessDay, I want to recognize the millions of Americans living with autism and their families. POTUS has directed me to address and find out what is causing the autism epidemic and what we can do about it. HHSgov is going to do everything in its power to ease the difficulties that so many of these individuals and families face. We’re going to rise to meet the challenge.
At HHS, we are making major reforms to ensure our food supply is healthy for all Americans. Operation Stork Speed will expand options for safe, reliable, and nutritious infant formula for American families.
Costs in the NY State Medicaid CDPAP program rose from $2.5B in 2019 to a projected $12B in 2025, with future projections on a steep upward trajectory. New York has filed a state plan amendment related to substantial changes to this program, and we are taking a 90-day review period to assess the updates for consistency with federal law. This review allows the federal government to evaluate how the changes affect access to care and evaluate the appropriate use of federal dollars.
