DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU!
"The Muslims civilised the World, bringing it out of darkness into light."
When you have been taught to study history through Western lenses, they deliberately faded the image and contribution of Muslims towards science and history. It was not, in fact, the apple that fell from the tree that told Newton about gravity, but the books of Ibn al-Haytham!
Europe in the Middle Ages was going through "The Dark Ages", as it is called by its own academic historians, due to its ignorance of science, medicine, surgery, physics, chemistry, philosophy, astrology, geometry and various other fields. During that Medieval (Evil) time, there was an increase in backwardness, squalor, and filth as a result of poverty and diseases, namely plagues, which is an older name in English, replaced by the word pandemic today.
These plagues were equivalent to modern-day pandemics like COVID-19 and were worse than without modern medicine. There were innumerable horrific deaths in Europe due to these plagues and other unknown harmful diseases. Thus, the European academic historians themselves call this age for Europe the Dark Ages.
At the same time, the Middle East and North Africa, including neighbouring Spain, etc, were celebrating the Golden Age under Islamic Civilisation, as is well acknowledged by both European non-muslim conservative Christian and secular academic scholars of history. In fact, European scholars say, "There would be no renaissance in Europe had it not been for Islam."
They, like other academic European historians, were admitting to the factual contribution of the Islamic Golden Age of Science in the Middle Ages to the civilization of Europe. Europeans were inspired by a book called
"Encyclopedia of Medicine" written by the Muslim physician Ibn Al Sina for the next six (6) centuries from which they learnt a lot about medicine and then from Muslim scientists like ibn Nafees and his student ibn Al Quff who discovered the blood circulatory system.
