The CDC’s confirmed measles cases count is 884, triple the amount seen in all of 2024. The vast majority — 646 — are in Texas, where an outbreak in the western part of the state that’s approaching the three-month mark.

NEW: Three airmen who died during a World War II bombing raid have been accounted for, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced Thursday.
U.S. Army Air Forces 1st Lt. Charles W. McCook, 23, U.S. Army Air Forces 1st Lt. Henry J. Carlin, 27, and U.S. Army Air Forces Sgt. Sidney Burke, 22, were carrying out a low-altitude bombing raid in Meiktila, Burma, on Aug. 3, 1943, the DPAA said.

Indiana: A Mooresville police officer has been released from the hospital after he was struck by a car during a police chase Saturday evening in Morgan County.
According to a release from the Brooklyn Police Department, shortly before 6:30 p.m. April 26, Morgan County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to pull over a Dodge sports car, which fled at a high speed northbound on State Road 67.
A Mooresville PD officer deploying Stop Sticks at State Road 67 and Sunset Lane, near Brooklyn, was struck by the suspect car, which drove around the officer's car.
The officer was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with non-life-threatening injuries, Mooresville PD said Saturday night.
On Sunday, Mooresville Police Chief Kerry Buckner told 13News the male officer had been released from the hospital to continue recovery at home. Buckner said the officer suffered a broken thumb and some sprains. The officer was on crutches but is expected to be OK, Buckner said.

UPDATE: The Arlington Police Department is investigating a late night shooting that resulted in the deaths of two young men and injured a third.
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at approximately 10:06 p.m., (local time) officers responded to a gas station in the 5600 block of S. Cooper Street to investigate a reported shooting.
Multiple people involved in the incident, including the suspected gunman, were still on scene when officers arrived and were quickly detained.
