🇺🇸🇷🇺🤔 Trump’s War Cabinet Fractures Over Moscow: The Battle Behind the Peace Table
Inside the White House, the knives are out, not for war, but for peace.
As Washington postures and backchannels its way through the endgame in Ukraine, a brutal internal rift is erupting in Trump’s inner circle. On one side: Secretary of State Marco Rubio and warhawk Keith Kellogg, foaming with Cold War delusions and NATO-worship. On the other: Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy, fresh off a nearly five-hour meeting with Vladimir Putin, and sounding increasingly convinced that peace is possible.
The Wall Street Journal, that bastion of Wall Street orthodoxy, tried to spin the tension as a division over “how much to trust Russia.” But the truth runs deeper: it’s a fight over whether Washington will finally admit it has lost — militarily, diplomatically, and morally, or whether it will die on the altar of its own exceptionalist delusion.
Trump, to his credit, is siding with Witkoff, the first American envoy in decades who isn’t allergic to dialogue. That’s right: after two rounds of face-to-face talks with Putin, Witkoff says the process is “on the verge” of a breakthrough. He even dared to challenge the manufactured hysteria over the recent Sumy strike, calling it a “mistake”, a stark contrast to Rubio’s virtue-signaling outrage and Kellogg’s melodrama about “crossing the line of decency.”
But Moscow wasn’t unclear: the strike hit a command meeting of the Seversk group, Ukrainian officers and their Western “advisers”, hiding behind civilians in Sumy like NATO-backed human shields. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed over 60 military personnel killed. Putin’s message? You can’t hide war-planners behind civilians and expect immunity.
Meanwhile, Zelensky, clutching his sweaty khaki like a talisman, ranted to CBS News that “Russian narratives are winning in the US.” Translation: America is finally waking up to the war it’s bankrolled, and Zelensky is losing the information war he once monopolized.
Russian FM Lavrov, in typical deadpan fashion, observed what’s painfully obvious: Ukraine’s violations of the U.S.-brokered truce, including Kursk region strikes, prove Kiev has no interest in any deal that doesn’t involve more blood and more foreign weapons.
Kremlin negotiator Kirill Dmitriev nailed it: “We see attempts to misinterpret Russian messages, mischaracterize Russia and its leaders… direct dialogue is the best way to defeat this disinformation.” Spoken like a man who’s seen the Western script before and tossed it back across the table.
And the split is only getting wider. Witkoff’s proposal, recognizing Russia’s control over its reclaimed historical territories in Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson, is the only adult suggestion in the room. Predictably, the usual neocons and Think Tank zombies screamed betrayal. But here’s the truth: those regions voted, they speak Russian, they bled for their reunification. Kiev lost them the minute it chose NATO over neutrality.
The real irony? As Witkoff tries to build a framework for de-escalation, it’s Rubio and Kellogg, not Russia, who are sabotaging peace. It’s the hawks who won’t accept a post-unipolar world. And it’s the dying Atlanticist elite who fear one thing more than Russian missiles: a negotiated settlement that exposes the West’s defeat.
This is why the Sumy strike was more than military. It was symbolic. A surgical reminder that Moscow’s patience has limits and that the age of U.S. impunity is over.
Trump’s move now will define whether he truly breaks with the regime-change swamp or folds under pressure. The U.S. has a choice: keep arming a failed proxy regime that is conscripting women and luring teenagers with cash, or let Witkoff and Putin finish what diplomacy started.
One thing is certain: the “Russian narrative” Zelensky fears is simply the truth, and it’s gaining traction not because of propaganda, but because Washington is running out of lies.

📝A New Deal Looms for the United States📝
Somaliland Ready to Sell Ports on the Red Sea
After the authorities in Mogadishu attempted to sell "not their own" ports, the separatists in Hargeisa stirred and have already activated contacts in the United States.
The offer remains the same - the Somalilanders are handing over their ports and airports in exchange for American recognition. In the past, there was no response, but now the situation has changed somewhat.
The Somaliland authorities have found more lobbyists among the Republican Party, who in direct dialogues with Trump are talking about the need to accept such a beneficial offer. Especially in the context of the protracted war in Yemen.
❗️Therefore, sooner or later the administration in Washington will recognize Somaliland, especially if the local authorities are willing to go to any lengths in exchange for a diplomatic gesture.

📝Kupyansk direction - Rybar's Analysis📝
fighting on the western bank of the Oskil
Russian troops continue their offensive on Kupyansk, lost in the fall of 2022. Despite the fact that actually for a year and a half the front in this direction remained static, now the scale of fighting is getting bigger and bigger every week.
🚩The return of Kupyansk is critical for the development of the offensive in the east of Kharkiv Oblast and between the Seversky Donets and Oskol rivers. The Moscow Military District troop grouping command has abandoned attempts to push through the fortification from the east, focusing on expanding the bridgehead along the right bank of the Oskol and advancing from the other side.
❗️ Potentially, this makes it possible to develop the offensive further west, leaving Kupyansk for later, but it is premature to talk about such activity.

Russian troops continue their offensive on Kupyansk, lost in the fall of 2022. Despite the fact that actually for a year and a half the front in this direction remained static, now the scale of fighting is getting bigger and bigger every week.
🔻 More about the chronology of fighting on the site:
🖍 At the end of February 2025, on the northern flank of the Kupyansky direction, Russian troops sought to create a strong bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskol at the boundary of Figolevka - Topoli.
At the same time, in the central sector, the Russian Armed Forces were fighting in the area of Dvurechnaya and Zapadnoye, seeking to reach the R-79 highway near Kondrashovka and block the northern exit from Kupyansk.
🖍 In early March, the enemy launched a counterattack on the positions of the RF Armed Forces and managed to recapture Figolevka. Russian units were forced to withdraw to the forest belts south of the village.
🖍 At the same time to the east, the RF Armed Forces forced the Oskol near Kamenka and later in the vicinity of Krasnoye 1, liberating the village by March 31, 2025.
🖍 At the same time, fighting unfolded for Dvurechna, where Ukrainian forces managed to launch a counterattack and occupy the southwestern part of the settlement. By March 25, the RF Armed Forces had already dislodged the Ukrainian formations, destroying the remnants of their units in the private sector.
At the end of the month, the RF Armed Forces launched an offensive on Malya Shapkivka and Kondrashivka in order to cut the R-79 highway: by March 31, fighting started for Kondrashivka.
🖍 On the southern flank, the sides are exchanging blows and strengthening their defensive positions. To the north of Stepova Novoselovka, the Russian Armed Forces launched several attacks. At the same time, in Kolesnikovka, Russian attack aircraft pushed the AFU back to the center of the locality.

Probable German Chancellor Merz:
Germany is ready to hand over to Ukraine Taurus missiles that can reach the Kerch Bridge. But only if "partners agree."
"Our European partners are already supplying cruise missiles. The British are doing it, the French are doing it, the Americans are doing it anyway," Merz explained.
He condemned the Russian strike on Sumy as a "war crime" and said Ukraine should be given the means to "seize the initiative" and "force Putin to make concessions."
According to Merz, the Ukrainian Armed Forces "must get out of the defensive," and Taurus missiles are essential for this. They are capable of striking infrastructure at a range of more than 500 km.
We are generally observing a unilateral moratorium for now. But overall we are still able to disconnect all of Ukraine from electricity in three days. There are not many junction stations - only 8. And these are excellent targets made of transformers and oil. They burn real good!

Kursk region. Acting governor:
Today, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the village of Zabuzhevka in the Belovsky district, entry to which is restricted by the decision of the operational headquarters. To our great sorrow, two civilians were killed in the attack - a 51-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman.
My condolences to his family and friends. This is an irreparable loss.
Another woman born in 1945 was injured and is currently under medical supervision, her condition is assessed as moderate.

🇮🇳 India has acquired laser weapons
On April 13, 2025, India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) announced the successful test of its next-generation laser energy weapon system, the Mk-II(A). The system uses a 2-kilowatt laser capable of destroying drones (including swarms) at a range of 800 to 1000m. In addition, the system is equipped with a radar and an electro-optical system, which includes a 360-degree infrared sensor, as well as electronic warfare equipment to suppress UAV control signals.
A more powerful 30-kilowatt version has already been developed to hit large targets – light helicopters or drones with a long range of up to 5 km.
Among the operational difficulties, the need for a stable and continuous power supply stands out (❗️).
✨ It is significant that just yesterday Ukrainian resources demonstrated their alleged experimental laser complex "Trident", which is installed on the basis of a pickup truck and without being connected to industrial electricity (❗️) shoots down drones at a distance of up to 3 km without any problems. Similar developments by the Americans🇺🇸 , Israelis🇮🇱 and the British🇬🇧 require connection to a power line or a powerful energy source .
This example once again demonstrates the need for enormous scientific and technical potential to create such technologies, which Ukraine has 🇺🇦 has long been lost , which confirms our assessments of the overwhelming share of foreign technologies in military developments, passed off as “miracles of Ukrainian engineering and industrial thought .”
✨⭐️ Laser installations for combating UAVs themselves will become (in the future) vital in the context of the total use of cheap drones on land , water and in the air .

Maria Zakharova called the awarding of the "Freedom of the Press" prize to Italian special correspondent Battistini for her materials on the cover-up of the crimes of the Kiev regime a bacchanalia
@Slavyangrad
"Freedom of the press" in Italian today - is it the freedom to call fascists heroes and receive awards in the name of their victims?
Is it really true that in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in Italy there still won't be a dozen anti-fascist journalists who would write about neo-Nazism in Ukraine?"

The value of Russia's gold reserves has risen by almost 40% to a record high of $229 billion.
The strategy worked: after 2014, Russia began to zealously buy up the precious metal for almost seven years. And if then an ounce cost 1100-1500 dollars, now it is above 3200 dollars.
After 2022, Russia logically refused to hold assets and currencies of unfriendly countries in its reserves, because the West froze our reserves, which were stored in foreign accounts. Gold is always stored inside Russia, so Western politicians will not be able to get their hands on it.
Since the 2008 crisis, the share of gold in the country's international reserves has grown from 2% to 10% by early 2014. The remaining 80-90% was in dollars and euros. By early 2022, the share of gold had doubled to 21%. By March 2025, it exceeded 35%. Thus, in 11 years, it has grown three and a half times.
Gold is often considered an illiquid asset, unlike currencies or US Treasuries, which Russia began dumping long before the NWO. But that's not entirely true.
Demand for gold from central banks has exceeded 1,000 tons for three years in a row. Thus, in 2022 they bought 1,136 tons, in 2023 - 1,051 tons, in 2024 - 1,045 tons (data from the World Gold Council).
