🔥 Token 2049 Recap — Raw Takeaways & Harsh Truths
Spent two full days (morning till night, yes—even past 7 PM!) at Token 2049. Here’s my unfiltered breakdown.
1. The Big Trend: Everyone’s obsessed with cracking the US market and cross-border payments. Crypto is inevitable—countries are finally waking up and quietly stacking reserves. CZ dropped the truth bomb: "Nations delaying Bitcoin reserves will just pay more later."
2. Founder Drought. The space needs strong founders. And here’s the kicker—any idea can blow up. It’s all about execution, tweaks, and relentless grit. You need iron balls to pivot, relaunch, and repeat. Stubborn founders who cling to one version? They die.
3. Eric Trump (yep, that Trump) declared the current financial system obsolete. Future = crypto.
4. USDT’s Retail Blind Spot. The Tether team nailed it: All stablecoins fight for the same whales. Retail? Ignored. Why? Less money. Cold math, but reality.
5. Zero Tech, All Hype. Shockingly few deep-tech talks. Just endless "mass adoption" fluff. Funny—last year, TON dominated panels like "Onboard 1M Users."This year? Same titles, different chains.
6. TON Ghosted. Barely any presence. One talk—that’s it. (More in my dedicated post.)
7. Token 2049 > Blockchain Life. After this, BL feels amateur. Networking, speaker quality, vibe—next level. I’m officially a Token 2049 stan.

TVL TAC (new layer 1 for Telegram) is already more than 2 times higher than TVL TON.
