And so, he did not just walk the path of resistance, he built it, stone by stone, tunnel by tunnel, sacrifice by sacrifice.
Deif was not a soldier for himself, nor for any fleeting cause, he fought fi sabilillah, in the path of Allah, where every hardship was a test, every wound a purification, and every loss a step closer to victory. He lived as a shadow, unseen yet ever-present, striking fear into the oppressors while carrying the hope of his people. The occupier hunted him like a ghost, raining fire upon his home, murdering his wife and children, believing they could break him. But Deif was not a man of this world, his soul was already tied to the hereafter, and his mission did not waver.
For decades, he led from the unseen, outmaneuvering those who believed themselves invincible. He turned tunnels into fortresses, transformed blockades into battlefields, and carried the spirit of the Palestinian resistance through the darkest of times. While tyrants relied on their war machines, Deif relied on the promise of Allah: Indeed, Allah will aid those who aid Him.
Today, his martyrdom was announced — but martyrs do not die, they are alive, sustained by their Lord. His body may have fallen, but his legacy rises with every child who learns his name, with every fighter who carries on his path, and with every believer who understands that true victory is not measured in years but in eternity.
