Caffeine, Tobacco, and Alcohol (especially in the form of espresso, Cigars, and fine whiskey) are proofs that Jesus loves us.
He didn't HAVE to make the plants which, in the hands of divinely inspired artisans, become those sublime pleasures which are the nearly-indispensible aid and comfort of our daily life, and the mark of sophistication and civilization itself. But He did so because it gave Him pleasure to see us so carefully and skillfully provided for.
He knew life would be full of toil, trouble, danger, and doubt. And He in his mercy and wisdom provided those means by which our courage can be fortified, our weary limbs rejuvenated, and our troubled minds eased.
