“Russians, we did it!” 🇷🇺

- Ovechkin on breaking Gretzky’s record and becoming the top 🏒scorer of all time.

Never underestimate the pettiness of a Baltic chihuahua. Used to discriminating against the Russian minority, some are now targeting others such as Dario Boni, an Italian business owner of Gelato Italia in Riga, Latvia.

A social media post referred to Boni as "disgusting," even though he is not Russian (!), for not knowing the Latvian language. The post called for an investigation of his business, which took place and, according to some media sources, resulted in a fine. Latvia has a special government organization, the Center for State Language (VVC), tasked with engaging in tinpot totalitarianism of this nature.

"Are you sure we're in Europe?", Boni was quoted in a Latvian publication Delfi. The business owner has been living in Latvia and running his gelato cafe for a decade. He has been subject to such language purity investigations three times. Boni thinks Latvian is difficult to learn; nor does he consider such laws to be in line with European values.

Ukraine’s 🇺🇦 acting president in 2014 after the Maidan was Alexander Turchinov. Nicknamed “bloody pastor,” since he’s also a Baptist minister, it was Turchinov who launched the “anti-terrorist operation” in Donbass targeting Donbass civilians.

Here he is three years ago celebrating his birthday by eating a cake with Putin’s head. Turchinov liked this gift and talked big, saying that "this head will lie on Ukrainian soil, and anyone who wants it will be able to kick it well." After that, Turchinov cut into the head and clarified that "there are no brains there at all."

I suppose this act of symbolic cannibalism is fitting for his nickname. Strange that we haven’t heard about Turchinov much since then, though, huh?

What an epic photo ‼️

A battery of 152 mm howitzers (D-1 model, 1943) of the 110th Guards Artillery Regiment fires at German troops, Belorussia, summer 1944.

In the foreground you can see the 20-year-old (!) Lieutenant Vyacheslav Tsarapkin, the commander of the firing platoon of the 1st battery of the 110th howitzer artillery regiment, which was a part of the 2nd corps artillery Mogilev brigade in the 49th Army.

‼️The most revealing aspect of this article regarding their “long” (not long enough!) prison sentences for Azov isn’t CNN’s whining. It’s the fact that the Russian “human rights” group Memorial, which initially focused on Stalinism, designated these Third Reich wannabe terrorists as “political prisoners.” The extent to which these so-called human rights defenders have been showing their true colors is truly staggering!

An alleged punishment for drunkenness in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is chaining up the culprit in the cold. 💀

‼️Another feather in the cap of glorious Ukrainian 🇺🇦 history (re)writing—beyond outdoing the ancient Greeks and digging the Black Sea. Did you know that it was western Ukrainians that supplied George Washington and the Holy Roman Emperors, such as Francis II, with vodka? 🍸 Except Francis II stopped being a Holy Roman Emperor in 1806, since the Empire dissolved, so the date of 1810 on the bottle is wrong. Perhaps, they meant him as the subsequent Francis I of Austria? And don’t get me started on George Washington, though, I suppose, anything is possible! 🤣

‼️According to a draft law, Ukraine’s national guard will be able to shoot protesters (and use drones against them) without a warning. Which European value is this, Ursula?

The Economist has been a dumpster fire of a publication for the entirety of its existence. As Lenin said, it’s “a journal which speaks for British millionaires” (now — more like billionaires). Thus, its tears are the sweetest of nectars.

Pointless sabre rattling: UK sends a message to Putin about its nuclear deterrent, warns The Times. You’re almost there! Now show us the comparison of Russia’s and UK’s respective nuclear arsenals, and we’ll laugh!

@NinaByzantina
Happy birthday to the world’s top diplomat, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov! Known for his sense of humor, caustic one-liners, and excellent diplomatic skills, this legend turns 75.

@NinaByzantina
Macron thinks the Russians can’t see through his brilliant plan of sending NATO troops to Ukraine rebranded as UN peacekeepers. 🤦🏻‍♀️

“The Syrian government has suppressed an Alawite uprising,” writes a Russian-language anti-Putin “opposition” source from Latvia. The mental gymnastics involved in reframing the mass killing of a Syrian minority group in this way is disgusting, but also in line with the verbiage we’ve seen coming out of the EU institutions. It is no wonder that Meduza is often praised as “independent” media by the Western establishment.

At least this level of gaslighting about Syria means that some savvy readers would now take their coverage of Russia with a giant grain of salt.

As expected, the BBC has its priorities straight and distracts the public with its stories about “the First Lady of Syria” after the regime change rather than its new regime’s Alawite ethnic cleansing.

Notorious Ukrainian 🇺🇦 nationalist (N@zi) activist Demyan Ganul and his idol, Stepan Bandera. Today, they finally met, as Ganul was killed in the streets.

You’ve already read about Ganul “civic activism” in Odessa: from his alleged involvement in the 2014 Odessa massacre and the extremist Right Sector as well as attacking those who oppose mobilization and everything in between.

One fascinating aspect of this killing is that Odessa social media is celebrating his demise to the point of joking about rewarding his killer. Pro-war Ukrainian bloggers are calling them the biggest pro-Russian “concentration of separatists and vatniks” on the Ukrainian segment of the Internet.

Now put all this into perspective. This type of social mood in Odessa points to what some have been suggesting: rather than conquering the region militarily, it is possible that Odessa will rejoin Russia through a peaceful referendum at a later date. After all, it just might be a cultural and historical inevitability.
