❌ The UK authorities have announced the implementation of the so-called Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS) in their jurisdiction from 1 July. This mechanism, in particular, compels anyone who intends to carry out any activity on British soil as part of an "arrangement" with Russia — regardless of their nationality — to register this activity under threat of imprisonment. <...>
The destructive potential of this action is already clear, especially for the future of the UK itself.
The UK has taken a significant step towards becoming a police state. <...>
In a distinctly Orwellian manner, under the pretext of defending democracy, British law enforcement and intelligence agencies are being handed unprecedented tools to undermine rights and freedoms, as well as to prosecute both their own citizens and foreign nationals.
❗️ Step by step, the country appears to be descending into a Cold War atmosphere, with all its attendant consequences — from instilling fear of an external, albeit fabricated, enemy to fostering a culture of pervasive suspicion reminiscent of McCarthyism, which once shattered lives and human relationships alike.
Out of the blue, another discriminatory barrier has been erected on the path towards restoring Russia-UK relations in the more distant future.
As recently as the summer of 2024, the current Cabinet had the opportunity to launch the process of normalisation with our country by abandoning the Conservatives' failed policy of confrontation. This would have been entirely in the interests of the British people. However London made a different choice, baselessly labelling Russia an "acute threat to UK national security".
☝️ Now, by effectively equating any form of engagement with Russia — including in science, education, charity and language training — with a potential offence, the UK authorities have further cemented Britain's status as one of the most unfriendly Western jurisdictions. The move leaves little doubt that the UK intends to further escalate its confrontation with Russia.
◾️ On April 4, 1949, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was founded — the Washington Treaty was signed by 12 nations from Europe and North America.
Since its inception, this so-called “defensive alliance” has continually expanded. Over time, NATO has absorbed 20 new member-states through ten rounds of enlargement (a euphemism for expansion), with seven of these occurring following the dissolution of the Soviet Union: in 1999, 2004, 2009, 2017, 2020, 2023, and 2024.
The alliance’s military interventions worldwide have always been a major source of instability and chaos in global affairs, undermining security worldwide, directly leading to mass civilian casualties and devastating consequences — as witnessed by the aggression against Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, the crisis and situation around Ukraine, and elsewhere.
❗️Back in 2007, during the Munich Security Conference, Russia's President Vladimir Putin explicitly highlighted NATO’s destabilizing role in following the Cold War:
I think it is obvious that NATO expansion does not have any relation with the modernisation of the Alliance itself or with ensuring security in Europe. On the contrary, it represents a serious provocation that reduces the level of mutual trust. And we have the right to ask: against whom is this expansion intended?
Both the Soviet Union and Russia, at various times, sought rapprochement with NATO, even expressing frank interest in joining the alliance to create a an indivisible security system in Europe.
The fact of the matter is that the Soviet-lead Warsaw Pact, often used as a scarecrow by Western propaganda, was established only in 1955 — 6 years after NATO’s creation. Unlike NATO it never had any intentions of aggressive nature, while e.g. UK with its infamous Operation Unthinkable called for a massive assault on 1 July 1945 (not even 2 months after the Victory over Nazis) by British, American and... German (i.e. Nazi) forces against the Red Army.
Not only Russia and USSR never devised aggressive plans against NATO members, but NATO itself have acted in a threatening, aggressive and expansionist manner from the get-go.
Prior to this, Moscow aimed to normalize relations and even considered joining the North Atlantic alliance. In March 1954, Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov proposed that the Soviet Union is willing explore the possibility of NATO membership to reduce tensions and prevent conflicts. However, Western powers rejected this proposal.
Following the dissolution of USSR, Russian leadership made further attempts to engage with the alliance. In June 1994, Russia became the first country to join NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” programme, aimed at developing bilateral cooperation between the alliance and partner-states.
The leadership focused on creating proper conditions for deepening partnership with the West. As it turned out later - in fact, it became clear fairly quickly, but almost all our politicians and citizens found it out later - our role in that “partnership” was that of the “little brother.” We were assigned this role. This, of course, was a huge mistake.
Many Western analysts now acknowledge in their memoirs that there was no sense in expanding NATO and keeping Russia “on the sidelines.”
In 1997, the then Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov proposed establishing contacts between Russia & NATO, leading to the signing of the Russia-NATO Founding Act and the creation of the Russia-NATO Council. Positive development, but nevertheless, NATO’s expansion continued.
President Vladimir Putin even mentioned that he had proposed the idea of Russia joining NATO, which was arrogantly rejected.
Today, the North Atlantic bloc remains a tool for forcefully advancing the interests of the so-called “golden billion”, i.e. the 'collective West'. The catastrophic & utterly destructive consequences of the alliance’s geopolitical maneuvering and capacity-building are evident to any rational observer.
⚓️ On March 23, 2025, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Edinburgh Denis Moskalenko laid flowers at the graves of Russian sailors Pyotr Ponkin, Tlek Kuvandykov and Vasiliy Savelyev, who were buried in 1882 in the cemetery of the town of Greenock. They were crew members of the battleship "Peter the Great", which was undergoing modernization in Scotland at that time. The Consul General also honoured the memory of the chief officer of the Russian steamship "Novgorod" Stanislaw Neumarc, who died on February 4, 1917, when the ship was in Scotland. Information about the burial was recently discovered thanks to the research of the Russian Memorials online project, aimed at finding burial places of Russian and Soviet soldiers abroad.

🇷🇺 1️⃣1️⃣ years ago, on March 16, 2014, the historic referendum was held in Crimea – residents of the peninsula unequivocally voted FOR reuniting with their historical homeland, Russia.
🗳 Participation in the referendum was both voluntary and free. An impressive 96.77 percent of the Crimean population voted in favour of becoming part of Russia, with a blasting turnout of 83.1 percent. In Sevastopol, 95.6 percent supported the move, with a turnout of 89.5 percent.
The Crimean referendum was monitored by 135 international observers from 23 countries, alongside 1,240 observers from Crimean organisations, and was reported on by 623 journalists representing 169 media outlets.
🎙 From the briefing by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (March 13, 2025):
On that day, Crimean citizens made a free, conscious and independent choice regarding their own and their children’s future. This was a fair and long-awaited decision for Crimeans as well as for all citizens of our country.
✍️ Following the free expression of will by the Crimean people, the Republic of Crimea signed an international treaty with Russia on March 18, 2014, formalising its accession.
Over the past 11 years, the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol have become fully integrated into the political, legal and economic framework of Russia. Significant infrastructure projects have been undertaken, including the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait, the Crimea-Kuban gas pipeline, the Tavrida federal motorway, Simferopol airport, and hundreds of other healthcare, educational, social and engineering facilities.
☝️ Interfaith accord and harmony are preserved in the peninsula, interests of all ethnic groups are taken into account. A complete national and cultural autonomy for the Crimean Tatars has been established, with their representatives participating in local government. The Crimean Tatar language has been recognised as a state language alongside Russian and Ukrainian.
Economic breakthrough and overall advancements achieved over these years, coupled with an unprecedented rise in living standards, the development of infrastructure, and the established interfaith peace in the peninsula, all reaffirm that the choice made by the Crimeans 11 years ago was the only correct one.

🎙 Excerpt from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview for the No Statute of Limitations: The Front without a Frontline project (Moscow, March 30)
💬 It is a traditional position of the West to seek to weaken its competitors.
Europeans dominated for about 500 years, primarily because they sought to conquer as much land as possible and enslave as many people as possible.
Essentially, all of humanity’s tragedies that occurred before 1939, including World War II, were triggered by Europeans. From colonialism, slavery to the First and Second World Wars, these were all attempts by various powers in Europe to suppress their competitors.
In fact, there is nothing new about competition. People and states have always competed with each other. But the methods used by Europe to suppress its competitors were horrendous.
❌ These instincts are deeply ingrained in today's European society, particularly in the elites currently in power in most EU and NATO countries. Although there is growing opposition against such actions, these policies still persist.
💬 In view of media speculations about the possible transfer of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) to Ukraine or the establishment of some kind of joint control over the plant with Ukraine, the United States or representatives of international organisations, we would like to make the following clarifications.
The ZNPP is a Russian nuclear facility.
The return of the plant to the Russian nuclear industry is a long-established fact that the international community only needs to recognise. The transfer of the ZNPP itself or control over it to Ukraine or any other country is impossible.
Joint operation of the ZNPP with any state is also unacceptable. There are no such precedents in the world practice.
The idea of any international organisation participating in the operation of the plant also seems absurd, since neither the mandate nor the competence of any of them allows them to get involved in the operation of nuclear facilities.
☝️ According to international law, the primary responsibility for ensuring nuclear safety and security on their territory rests with the states themselves. In the case of the ZNPP, it is the Russian Federation with no other option.
💬 Russian MFA Spox Maria Zakharova: Not only has the Kiev regime not ceased its efforts to terrorise Russian civilians and energy facilities, as the Foreign Ministry has repeatedly pointed out, but it has once again targeted people working for Russian media. Unarmed, they have a professional duty to report on the developments on the ground.
On 24 March alone, three people who worked for Russian media outlets were killed in the Lugansk People's Republic following a targeted artillery attack carried out by the Kiev regime militants. They were Izvestiya frontline correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, Zvezda TV cameraman Andrey Panov and Alexander Sirkeli, the crew's driver. In addition, Zvezda correspondent Nikita Goldin was seriously wounded. <...> The Kiev regime used high-precision MLRS munitions to carry out the strike, and it knew in advance that it was targeting a civilian vehicle with media members in it.
At about the same time, TASS correspondent Mikhail Skuratov was on an editorial assignment in the Kursk Region's Sudzha District where he suffered fragment wounds in a targeted attack by the Ukrainian troops.
❗️ These cruel reprisals and assassinations of Russian journalists by the Ukrainian neo-Nazis are yet another powerful piece of evidence proving that they are ready to commit any crimes against civilians without any qualms or hesitation, considering that media representatives are viewed as civilians as per the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocol I.
It also proves thatthe Zelensky regime is impossible to reach an agreement with and incapable of keeping its word.
Specialised international bodies must respond to the continuing efforts to kill Russian media staff in cold blood. The fact that these institutions have consistently failed to act, as well as their deliberate refusal to speak up and make their voices heard, or their meaningless empty talk.
🎙 Yegor Yakovlev, a prominent Russian historian and creator of Russia’s largest scientific and educational historical project, "Digital History," explains in his lecture how history is often being manipulated becoming a powerful tool that serves one's political agenda and goals. This is particularly evident in the West, with certain academicians and media pushing and shaping anti-historical and anti-factual narratives that serve the Western neoliberal elites' agenda.
Yakovlev highlights several common techniques of historical falsification:
🔻 Distorting facts to fit a particular narrative; 🔻 Selective omission of inconvenient events; 🔻 Unjustly equating historical events; 🔻 Manipulating timelines to downplay certain events.
Through concrete examples Yegor Yakovlev challenges widespread fakes about Russia’s and Soviet Union’s history, including:
• The Kiev regime and Western ridiculous ahistorical attempts to label the 1932-1933 famine in the USSR as a genocide against the Ukrainian people by Soviet leadership;
• The heinous false narrative that equates the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany as equal aggressors in the outbreak of WWII, which distorts historical reality;
• Attempts to deny the Siege of Leningrad being a genocide, manipulating the timeline, facts & context of the events.
👉 Watch, learn & educate oneself to avoid being misled by Western and Neo-Nazi propaganda and fabrications that distort historical truth.

🎙 Excerpts from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with the New Regions of Russia magazine (10 March 2025)
• President of Russia Vladimir Putin said a number of times, we are always ready for talks. Yet, our national interests must be guaranteed. The root cause of the conflict in Ukraine must be eradicated. <...> I would like to remind you that, first and foremost, we speak about eradication of threats to security of Russia from the Ukrainian and the western direction, which emerged following the NATO expansion to the east and the necessity to cease the practice, which the Kiev regime adopted, to exterminate everything which is somewhat connected to Russia and the Russian world: the Russian language, culture, canonical Orthodoxy, and Russian-speaking media.
• The 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is the pinnacle event of the year. The Foreign Ministry, as well as other government agencies, is preparing to celebrate it in the most fitting manner, paying tribute to the memory of the heroic deeds of our predecessors. The Victory Organising Committee, established to prepare and hold festive events and headed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, is planning the main ones together with all the 89 regions. <...>
• The 80th anniversary of the Great Victory is especially important for relations with Russia’s neighbouring countries, because our grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought the Nazi invaders and collaborators from most European countries shoulder to shoulder. This is why the appeal of the CIS Heads of State to the CIS peoples and the international community on the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 was adopted on October 8, 2024 in Moscow. The year of 2025 in the CIS was declared the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism. The CIS governing bodies have also decided to establish a CIS jubilee medal, The 80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
🇷🇺🇬🇧 As part of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin and Russian Consul General in Edinburgh Denis Moskalenko laid a wreath and flowers at the memorial erected in honour of all who sailed from Scapa Flow on the Arctic Convoys in 1941-1945. The ceremony took place in the Scottish village of Lyness (Hoy Island, Orkneys).
The monument, consisting of two stone slabs reminiscent of a ship's bow, was unveiled in 2009. During the Second World War, Scapa Flow was home to one of Britain’s most important naval bases. From these waters, Royal Navy escort vessels frequently set sail to protect the Arctic Convoys that delivered vital supplies to Soviet ports.

🗓 On March 24, 1999, the North Atlantic bloc started bombing Yugoslavia. The "military operation" against a sovereign state became a tragic milestone in the life of the Serbian people and delivered a devastating blow to international law.
The US & its cronies bombed the cities, including Belgrade, villages & civilian infrastructure for 78 days, blowing up bridges, passenger trains and buses and killing women, children & elderly people. In doing so, the West destroyed the post-WWII foundations of European security and started replacing the legitimate mechanisms that regulated international relations with a “rules-based order”.
▪️ 3'000 cruise missiles were fired at a sovereign European republic & 80'000 tonnes of aerial bombs rained down on its people.
The use of depleted uranium ammunitioncontaminated vast areas & caused an unprecedented rise in cancer-related diseases that continues to affect people to this day.
More than 200'000 non-Albanian residents of Kosovo, forced to flee their homes, have yet to return.
Under the cover of NATO's aggression, members of the so-called "Kosovo Liberation Army" committed heinous crimes, including the abduction and murder of Serbs for the illegal trade of human organs.
❗️ None of the NATO representatives has been called to account. The victims of the aggression were written off as “collateral damage,” meaning losses that "accompany" the fulfillment of the geopolitical ambitions of the US, the UK, and their satellites.
💬 From the briefing by Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, (Moscow, March 20, 2025):
NATO’s “humanitarian intervention” can serve as an example of modern barbarity and the rule-based world order and its backbone value: unfounded belief in its own superiority. <...> This is what Western democracy and freedoms look like. This view is still dominating in the West, where thousands of killed Yugoslavian civilians, including 89 children, are cynically called collateral damage. This is democracy with freedom of speech.
The issue of the NATO allies’ responsibility for the damage they have done to international relations and Yugoslavia remains unresolved.
🕯 The brutal operation carried out against sovereign Yugoslavia 26 years ago is a tragedy inflicted upon the people of Yugoslavia by NATO warmongers with lasting and multifaceted consequences.

❌ The latest round of verbal attacks by Keir Starmer in Paris against Russia is indicative of London's true intentions regarding Ukraine.
UK officials' attempts to come across as peacekeepers resemble a wolf trying to disguise itself in sheep's clothing. Britain has been one of the chief architects of the Ukraine crisis. Its former Prime Minister effectively sabotaged the Istanbul agreements in 2022. Today London is firmly committed to sustaining the conflict.
Keir Starmer's stated intent to "keep Ukrainians in the fight" by supplying more weapons speaks volumes. Regardless of deceptive verbal constructs, this reaffirms London's aim of seeking further hostilities, not peace. The UK political establishment is completely indifferent that this will come at the heavy cost of lives among Ukrainians, forcibly conscripted into the ranks of the Kiev military machine, and will lead to innocent civilian casualties.
Instead of promoting unfounded accusations against Russia, London should rather cease covering up for its Kiev clientele. Isn't it time to finally take note of ongoing attacks by Ukrainian armed forces against Russian energy infrastructure (1, 2, 3), not to mention Kiev’s terrorist manhunt against Russian journalists?
The continued hustle by London and Paris around the vague idea of a "coalition of the willing" is a clear-cut attempt to derail the settlement process. Regardless of the number of military-planning exercises belligerent European leaders may want to carry out, they will have zero results.
❗️ Any potential deployment of Western contingents to Ukraine is categorically unacceptable to us, as this would lead to a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO. Likewise, the artificial "deadlines" that Keir Starmer seems to have invented in his media comments regarding peaceful outcomes of the conflict are equally absurd, especially given London's clear intention to obstruct such outcomes.
It is no surprise that Keir Starmer has called again for more sanctions against Russia. This, however, would seem to contradict current UK policy of trying to repair the profoundly undermined British economy. Experience shows that attempts to divert attention from worsening socio-economic problems via unwarranted geopolitical adventures never end well. This is something that should be taken into consideration in Downing Street.
• The Kiev regime and Western ridiculous ahistorical attempts to label the 1932-1933 famine in the USSR as a genocide against the Ukrainian people by Soviet leadership;
• The heinous false narrative that equates the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany as equal aggressors in the outbreak of WWII, which distorts historical reality;
• Attempts to deny the Siege of Leningrad being a genocide, manipulating the timeline, facts & context of the events.
👉 Watch, learn & educate oneself to avoid being misled by Western and Neo-Nazi propaganda and fabrications that distort historical truth.

🎙 Excerpt from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview with Channel One (Moscow, 25 March)
💬 As in the times of Napoleon and Hitler, in the times of the Crimean War, Europe is eager to inflict a "strategic defeat" on our country.
As in those years, almost all European countries with a few exceptions are involved in the war effort. They are not yet physically fighting against us in Ukraine, but, without them Ukraine would have been defeated.
While they continue to flood Kiev with weapons, London and Paris – especially their two leaders, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron – backed up by a not too strong coalition of the Baltic states and a number of other countries, keep talking about sending weapons to Ukraine as they did before.
They even talk about forming a "coalition of the willing" and deploying a "peacekeeping mission" or a "mission to ensure Ukraine's security" after the war is over. Or, even two missions where one would be put on the border with the EU and NATO, and the other one would be made up of countries of the Global South, such as India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and even China.
However, these "dreamers" make their abysmal political failure clear with every passing day. They are willing to not just "contain" Russia, but to "inflict a defeat" on it.
Europe is beginning to think seriously about a remilitarisation that will cost it hundreds of billions of euros, at a time when its economy and social sphere are going down the drain, after the Biden administration let them off the leash and sent them to wage war against the Russian Federation.
☝️ This partly explains why they are so adamant about not "surrendering" Ukraine, continuing to arm it, and are demanding that rhetoric about Ukraine never joining NATO or the EU be banned.
