Admission is UNFAIR

Admissions to top universities are undeniably unfair. You can spend years preparing—sacrificing sleep, pushing your limits, and building an impressive portfolio—only to receive a rejection letter. But does that rejection define your worth? Absolutely not.

Rejection does not eliminate your hard work, your achievements, or the incredible experiences you have gained. It does not diminish the late nights spent studying, the passion poured into projects, or the resilience built through challenges. Instead, it emphasizes the reality of fierce competition, where factors beyond your control often play a significant role.

However, your journey does not end here. Think about how much you have grown. Consider the network of talented and driven individuals you have connected with. You have seen firsthand what it takes to compete at the highest level, and that knowledge will serve you in future endeavors.

The professional world is even more competitive than college admissions, and this experience prepares you for that reality. It teaches you to navigate setbacks, to strategize, and to reassess your path wisely. Sometimes, the best opportunities lie beyond the traditional routes. Perhaps studying in another country will offer you better career prospects. Maybe staying in Uzbekistan and immersing yourself in work experience will provide you with unique advantages.

So, take a step back. Breathe. This is not the end; it is a pivot point. Take the time to reflect deeply on what truly aligns with your goals. The path to success is not linear, and sometimes, rejection is just redirection toward something even greater.

Maybe, it is time to start?

Although rejection from a dream school can feel devastating, it is important to remember that it does not define your worth or potential. Take your time, discuss with your mentors or someone experienced in admissions about your weak points, set a very specific goal, and then restart your application.

Start reflecting on what you’ve learned from the process—whether it's refining your application, strengthening your essays, or gaining a clearer understanding of what you want from your future.
