Valentinian Gnosticism

What is the Pleroma?

They were not miserly like us, who build cemeteries that have to be cleared after a few generations, the bones put into a chest and then demolished. Rather our ancestors built a memorial for millennia, before which we today reverently stand. Perhaps the idea again dawns on many of us today that the veneration of the ancestors is a source of strength for a folk, that each one who reveres his ancestors also measures his own greatness and his own importance with the correct measuring stick.

The Creation for the Gnostics
Gnostics believe that more couples of aeons had been generated from God, the First Aeon, always composed of a male and female aeon. Hence, therefore, both male and female nature of God (God understood as Mother and as Father together). God and the aeons as a whole formed the Pleroma.
The aeons, therefore, represent the various emanations of God, also known as the Aion Teleos (the perfect aeon), Bythos (Greek for depth), Proarkhe (Greek for the beginning), Arkhฤ (Greek for start). This first being is also an aeon and contains another being known as Ennoia (Greek for thought), or Charis (Greek for grace), or Sige (Greek for silence). The perfect Being later conceives the second and third aeons: the male Caen (Greek for out of power) and the Akhana female (truth, love).
In the Gnostic tradition, the name Sophia is, together with that of Christ, attributed to the last emanation of God. Sophia causes an instability in the Pleroma, contributing to the creation of the matter.
In the Nag Hammadi Codices, Sophia is the syzygy of Jesus Christ (having been co-emanated with him, it forms a unit with Christ) and is identified in the Holy Spirit of the Trinity. In the text On the Origin of the World, Sophia is painted as the one who generated without her male counterpart. In this way, the Demiurge (YHWH, Satan, also known as Yaldabaoth, Samael, or Rex Mundi for the Cathars) was created. This creature, responsible for the creation of the material universe, did not belong to the Pleroma and would never have had to exist, since Sophia generated it without her syzygy, Jesus Christ, trying to open a breach in the barrier between her and the unknowable Bythos. In the creation of the material world by the Demiurge, however, Sophia managed to instill his divine spark (pneuma) in the matter, thus permeating the creation of her divinity (divinity, therefore, present in the cosmos and therefore in all forms of life in the form of a soul), and ruining the plans of the Demiurge.
Recalling the divine spark that is in him, in fact, the man awakens from the Demiurgic and material world and accesses the truth beyond reality. Christ came to earth precisely in order to awaken their divinity in men (the Sophia who is in them), indicating to humanity the way to reach Gnosis or the return to the Pleroma.
In addition, Sophia is also painted as the one who will destroy the Demiurge and this universe of matter with all its heavens. Later, in The Origin of the World, it is said:

The aeons, therefore, represent the various emanations of God, also known as the Aion Teleos (the perfect aeon), Bythos (Greek for depth), Proarkhe (Greek for the beginning), Arkhฤ (Greek for start). This first being is also an aeon and contains another being known as Ennoia (Greek for thought), or Charis (Greek for grace), or Sige (Greek for silence). The perfect Being later conceives the second and third aeons: the male Caen (Greek for out of power) and the Akhana female (truth, love).
In the Gnostic tradition, the name Sophia is, together with that of Christ, attributed to the last emanation of God. Sophia causes an instability in the Pleroma, contributing to the creation of the matter.
In the Nag Hammadi Codices, Sophia is the syzygy of Jesus Christ (having been co-emanated with him, it forms a unit with Christ) and is identified in the Holy Spirit of the Trinity. In the text On the Origin of the World, Sophia is painted as the one who generated without her male counterpart. In this way, the Demiurge (YHWH, Satan, also known as Yaldabaoth, Samael, or Rex Mundi for the Cathars) was created. This creature, responsible for the creation of the material universe, did not belong to the Pleroma and would never have had to exist, since Sophia generated it without her syzygy, Jesus Christ, trying to open a breach in the barrier between her and the unknowable Bythos. In the creation of the material world by the Demiurge, however, Sophia managed to instill his divine spark (pneuma) in the matter, thus permeating the creation of her divinity (divinity, therefore, present in the cosmos and therefore in all forms of life in the form of a soul), and ruining the plans of the Demiurge.
Recalling the divine spark that is in him, in fact, the man awakens from the Demiurgic and material world and accesses the truth beyond reality. Christ came to earth precisely in order to awaken their divinity in men (the Sophia who is in them), indicating to humanity the way to reach Gnosis or the return to the Pleroma.
In addition, Sophia is also painted as the one who will destroy the Demiurge and this universe of matter with all its heavens. Later, in The Origin of the World, it is said:
โShe [Sophia] will throw them down into the abyss. They (the Archonti) will be lost due to their malice. They will become like volcanoes and consume each other until they perish at the hands of the First Parent. When he has destroyed them, he will turn against himself and destroy himself until he ceases to exist.
And their heavens will precipitate one upon the other, and their ranks will be consumed by fire. Their eternal realms will also be overturned. And his sky will fall and break in two. [โฆ] They will fall into the abyss, and the abyss will be overturned.
The light will win over darkness, and it will be like something that never was before.โ

The fact that the German nation was the first on earth to recognize this danger and expel it from its organism is proof of its healthy instincts.
