At first glance, the videos and photos tell a story of a family that loved guns.

But, who they shared those guns and their home with is raising questions about the homeowner, Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Joel Cano. 🤯

Cano resigned last month in what appeared at the time to be a retirement.

Though his letter did not give a reason for the resignation, it came shortly after a raid at his home in which Department of Homeland Security agents found Cristhian Ortega-Lopez, an illegal migrant and Tren de Aragua member living there.

On Feb. 28, Ortega-Lopez was arrested and charged with being in the country illegally and possessing a firearm.

In an interview with The National News Desk on Tuesday, former ICE field office director John Fabbricatore said, “This judge's daughter is allowing this illegal alien to have access to firearms, which is unlawful under 18 U.S.C. 922(g). It is a felony for this illegal alien to be in possession of firearms."

Last year, an operation in New Mexico named "Operation Disruption" led to the rescue of 91 migrants being held in stash houses, many in Doña Ana County.

Fabbricatore spent time working in Doña Ana County, which he said is one of many border towns that are a draw for transnational gang members.

"The United States is a gold pot for them to be able to come into the United States, set up criminal networks, make money, transfer that money back down to Venezuela or transfer throughout the gang."

Court documents reveal he entered the country unlawfully in Dec. 2023, and a few months later had been hired by the judge’s wife, Nancy, who later offered him a place to stay in the residence she shared with her husband.

“Tren de Aragua is one of the most dangerous gangs in the country, and the NYPD has taken significant action to shut down their operations in New York City.

For the first time ever, TdA is being named and charged as the criminal enterprise that it is. This isn’t just street crime—it’s organized racketeering, and this gang has shown zero regard for the safety of New Yorkers.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday announced the Justice Department has charged over two dozen alleged current and former members of the violent gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) under the Racketeering Influence and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

The move marks the first time that the federal government has used the act to prosecute a foreign terrorist organization, or drug cartel, the Daily Wire reported. The act is typically used against the mafia.

Bondi and Matthew Podolsky, the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said charges have been filed against 27 people the department believes are former or current gang members. The charges include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking conspiracy, drug trafficking conspiracy, robbery, and firearms offenses.

“As alleged, Tren de Aragua is not just a street gang – it is a highly structured terrorist organization that has destroyed American families with brutal violence, engaged in human trafficking, and spread deadly drugs through our communities,” Bondi said. “Today’s indictments and arrests span three states and will devastate TdA’s infrastructure as we work to completely dismantle and purge this organization from our country.”

The indictment also accuses 19 of the 27 people charged of being part of the Tren de Aragua offshoot referred to as “Anti-Tren.”

The Justice Department additionally claimed that the violent Venezuelan gang is particularly active in New York City, including in Queens and the Bronx.

Poor Fortesa Latifi. You'd think we'd have become old news by now.

In 2020, Dan’s wife lost a pregnancy. When Dan, a 41-year-old from Minnesota, told his parents about the loss, his mother said that the Covid vaccine was responsible for the miscarriage (though multiple studies found that it did not increase risk).

In the months leading up to that, she had posted memes featuring slogans like Save the Children and Where We Go One We Go All.

But when she blamed vaccination for the loss, it was the last straw. He started searching online for a way to combat his mother’s conspiratorial thinking.

In that search, he found r/QAnonCasualties, a subreddit for people whose loved ones have fallen down the QAnon rabbit role.

Dan scrolled and posted and commented, hoping to find the resources to guide his mother out of her Q-pilled beliefs.

“Learn how to steer them back to reality and heal yourself,” reads the sub’s description.

Five years later, Dan — and many other subreddit members — no longer believe that’s possible.

In yet another blow to immigration law enforcement, the Supreme Court today ruled 5–4 in Monsalvo Velázquez v. Bondi that illegal aliens granted voluntary departure under federal immigration law can remain in the United States past their court-ordered departure deadline—if that deadline happens to fall on a weekend or legal holiday.

Justice Neil Gorsuch authored the majority opinion, joined by Justices Roberts, Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson, effectively rewriting the meaning of a “60-day” voluntary departure period to accommodate the convenience of deportable individuals, not the rule of law.

At the center of the case was Hugo Monsalvo Velázquez, a Mexican national who entered the U.S. illegally nearly two decades ago and was ordered to leave within 60 days.

His departure deadline fell on a Saturday, but instead of leaving, he filed a motion to reopen his case on the following Monday.

Both the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that he had missed his deadline.

But the Supreme Court has now overruled them, injecting ambiguity into what was once a firm immigration deadline.

In a strong dissent, Justice Clarence Thomas—joined by Justices Alito, Kavanaugh, and Barrett—blasted the majority for stretching the law beyond its clear terms, arguing that ’60 days means 60 days,’ not whenever the alien gets around to it.

“The merits question in this case—whether petitioner left the United States within “60 days” after October 12, 2021— is straightforward,” Alito wrote in his opinion.

The 60th ‘day’ after October 12, 2021, was Saturday, December 11, 2021. And petitioner failed to depart the country by that Saturday. … There is no justification for [a 2-day extension],”

1. I read Trump's DOGE Executive Order and, expecting some illegal power grab, found it to be airtight.

Turns out Trump and Musk didn't create anything.

Obama did.

2. Obama created United States Digital Service (USDS) in 2014.

It was meant as a bureaucratic patch job to fix the Obamacare website meltdown.

Fast forward to 2025.

3. Trump rebrands it DOGE (United States DOGE Service).

Keeps the acronym, keeps the funding, but gives it a whole new mission: Find the Receipts

Legally untouchable because it was already fully funded and operational.

4. Trump invokes 5 USC 3161, which allows him to create temporary hiring authorities.

DOGE get embedded inside every federal agency.

Each consists of a lawyer, HR rep and an investigator. They report to DOGE, not the agency they're embedded in.

5. But wait, there's more.

Trump invokes 44 USC Chapter 35, which governs federal IT and cybersecurity oversight.

Since USDS was originally IT oversight, DOGE now has full access to all federal data systems.

Yes. All of them.

6. His executive order is written to ignore legal challenges.

Includes language that overrides conflicting executive orders. Orders every agency to comply. Refusal means they violate presidential authority.

Congress can't defund it because it's not a new program, just a repurposed one.

7. DOJ can't sue because Trump used existing laws exactly as written.

Democrats trying to file legal challenges run into issues because DOGE operates within existing network.

Obama literally made the perfect Administrative Deep State IT indirect access.

8. Trump and Musk hacked the system and took the admin controls.

Musk now has legal oversight of every major agency's internal systems. The Administrative State can't stop it without rewriting multiple federal laws.

They legally outplayed them and there’s nothing they can do about it.
